Hail and well met

For a long time i have been an imperial pilot, with a very brief career in the alliance navy and have come to love the light fighters on both sides. big ships with high mass just don't do it for me, which is why when i decided to join the RSF that i was less than impressed with the heavy lumbering ships that Freelancers seem to be forced to cope with, that is until i found the Khiraxz.

At first i was less than impressed with the 40k mass, and this meant that i overlooked it for the Dunie and later the Kimo.

that was a mistake i soon rectified and in short order i found the highest mass chassis i could ( a whopping 40590 mass) and set about fitting it out with the best setup i could manage, here is what i run (forgive the lack of mass as the servers are down atm)

RE level 6 engine PYR 68/69/68 speed 82.2

Crafted MK III shields 1321 HP

RE boltdriver

mark I crafted cap

mark I crafted reactor (770 mass =D)

RE level 1 Droid interface (478 mass)

Mark I crafted armour F/B 275 HP 930(ish) mass

Mark III proton torpedo launcher (i'm thinking ahead to the vette here when the missiles will help no end)

all this fits snugly into the chassis with 22 mass to spare. I would like to thank my favourite Shipwright for being so patient with me and helping out.

so far i have had no problems at all with any of the tier 3/4 missions, it just goes to show that with a little perseverence a low mass isn't a bad thing and you can make even the smallest ship competetive for PvE (and who knows maybe i can swat a few JSF's in PvP too...)

so put away your high mass brutes and jump into the cockpit of a Kihraxz, they are sweet to fly and have a heck of a punch

I'm your mirror image, I like my ships big and lumbering.

I doadmit it's quite easy to dump a load of components in the heavy ships and do ok in PvE which can't be done with light ships. But it's just as challenging to get a 244k B-Wing to the peak of it's performance as a 40k Kihraxz.

Interesting. My guild is mainly Rebel so I have lttle experiance first hand with freelance ships. One of my guildies has just finished tier 3 freelance though. He's still in the "What ship can do everything well" phase.

Kihraxz was my ship of choice even at master pilot I would take it into deep space and do a few ISD runs...

Then I discovered its heavy set brother the vaksai and i fainted.. I thought I did good with 40k mass... 150k and same stats ! *drool*

Almost same here. I was using my kimo, then when I found Vaksai, was love at first sight .

But now I'm using Ecta-2 Actis Interceptor (Jedi Ship) I LOVE being able to put the wings up & down ROFL.

Im a Imp Ace Pilot and while i fly my grevius i do keep a very well armed opressor avaible for taking out larger targets but I believe each ship has a particular role.
