Thread: Taking out Gunships
For mission gunboats, I recommend jousting. Fly straight at them, guns blazing and aiming for their engine. Then boost past them and out of range until your shields are ready for another pass.
As soon as they're disabled, underneath both Imperial and Rebel gunboats is a nice big blind spot.
As a note, the biggest mistake I see people make when attacking gunboats is they attack them from above - lots of room up there for the turret to track you.

Or, to use the pilot term, straffing runs.

Got a mission one, going to try to fly directly on their tail then shoot a proton rifle or two at their engine since they start off as neutral towards me
Hey uh bro you just might be a bit more effective useing a proton missle launcher than that rifle. Though I have to admit balls of steel to pop your canopy and fire off a couple rounds with your rifle!

Hey, it's SOE's website that posted the manuever under that name.
Hmm, SOE using a term for a medieval horseback maneuver when they should be using 20th century term for an aircraft piloting maneuver.... this explains a lot......
