Does it benefit other systems? I cant see a use for it.

thoughts?

So rebels can actually use 4 guns and 2 launchers on their B-wings

It's handy if you only have/can only fit a small reactor, and your ship needs more power than it can put out. Reactor Overload can make your small(er) reactor put out enough power to run the ship.

Yes, you can surely launch while above red line as long as you have at least enough power for the engine (and since the engine is the last component to be disabled by low power, I'm not even sure it's possibleto get far enough in theredto prevent launch).

That said, NEVER luanch above red line if it disables your droid interface. If your interface is diabled you can't run the reactor overloadneeded to correct your power shortage. Most loadouts (with the exception of the B-wing and to a lesser degree the X-wing) should be able to stay below red line before you launch. The real need for reactor overload is when your other overloads (usualy engine overload) send you above red line.

I have almost never had any use for anything more than reactor overload 2, ofter I only need level 1 and I just use 2 cause I know it will be more than enough. Only ships that launch why above red line, or if you actually use level 4 weapon or engine load are like ly to need reacter 3 or 4.

Finally, as far as I've notice, their is no advance to extra power, it just goes nowhere. Skimping on your reactor and running a high overload is a good way to trim some mass.

As soon as you start running higher level droid programs you'll need the Reactor Overload program. The standard weapons overload, cap overload, and engine overload draw a lot of juice. It makes a lot more sense to overpower a small reactor than load a big heavy one.

You can't launch with a reactor overdrawn to the point your engine can't get power.

I launch my B-Wing with a 15970 reactor and a 19700 power draw. I just hit the RO4 once I load.
