Thread: y-8 escort mission bugged

I am not getting the waypoint when I enter Kashyyk space sector, on the mission you gain in the chain of mining missions where you must escort a convoy or something of Y-8 mining vessels. I was quite happy to hear Id be able to actually see one of these ships for the first time, but because of this bug I wont be seeing one anytime soon, or getting my own for that matter.
Anybody no of a workaround for the bug, or am I screwed until a fix in the year 2030?

You're not alone. The missions worked up till about Publish 18. I was able to complete mine before then. As to never seeing them, don't be too sure. Mine is currently in service with a guildmate who's into the mining thing and is currently bugged in his mission.

Type V Engine with no less than 70 Yaw/Pitch and never flyingmore than 500 speed while in third person mode.

Oh yeah, Engine Overload is a must.You ain't moving this whale around easy with standard performance. Everything else is just skill, talent, and perseverance.

My problem is getthing the mining laser to damage asteroid 
. I know we get few that bug and you have to destroy the asteroid but these three seperate mining lasers are doing 0 dmg to the asteroid so there for the rock dosent decay in health.

Mining laser on the front pilot gun and defense turrent on reverse underside.
The Mining laser is a Y8 atm with a crafted tractor beam and a lvl 10 Gun. Really puzzling and been like this since I got it so I am forced to mine in my Starfighter at 1.5k a time

Well thank you publish 18, the publish that can barely be called a hotfix in size, and made more things breakthan worthwhile thingsit fixed.

I wasn't able to do any damage when I tried it in the cockpit mount, but I've been told that bug is intermittant. Some people can, some people can't.
Turrets seemed to work, though.

Im at the same spot. First escort mission, no waypoints or ships when I launch in Kashyyk space. I've landed, gone to other systems, tried to take on other space missions, talked to my pilot trainer etc. There is a whole thread about this in the quest board as well. I want my mining ship

Still bugged. I tried to get through the missions yesterday, and no WP for the escort mission.
That's one way to solve all the complaints about the Y-8 - make sure nobody else can get one
