Thread: The Kessel Spawn Switch...
- Spawns going completely insane, LOADS and LOADS of fighters to kill
- Black Suns in the blue nebula at the center of the sector, rather than Corsairs
- Rebel Gunboats circling all but 1 of the static spawn sights instead of Imperial Gunships(the brown corner nebula being the exception, always a gunship)
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?Was/Is this supposed to happen frequently? Is it triggered by something? Is it completely random? Is it supposed to be this way 50% of the time, alternating once in a while? Is there ANY information on this at all?
I don't claim I know how it works(obviously I'm not all that sure), the closest I can figure is that I once did something different, right before it happened for a short timea few months ago: I concentrated on killing Imperial Fighters Only(Usually, I just kill everything in sight). I tried to replicate the result, but it never happened again while I was up there.
Personally, I LOVE when this happens, and I'd REALLY like to know why it hasn't for so long(at least on Eclipse, when I'm there).

The only thing I know about that might relate to this is a rumor I heard a while back. It was if you go into Deep Space and kill the ISD, the imp vette will isntantly spawn, maybe they're related in some way, maybe not.
They always seemed to act up (i.e. form) following the destruction of the Rebel Vette. I remember one night when there were FIVE Rebel Vettes stacked pretty much one behind the other...
...took them all out, and there was a GIANT maelstrom of fighters in my waypointed spots.
...now Kessel's a graveyard, and the ten fighters that escort the Vette can be considered a "good-sized spawn."

Now THAT sounds like fun. I wish we had a space zone like that all the time.
this is the million dollar question. i would give a million pesos to the person who can figure out how to flip this switch.
i've thought about it being # of players in the zone
i've thought perhaps there's a spawn trigger you need to destroy
sheer # of fighters destroyed?
imp and rebel vette in the zone at the same time?
i've sat at that corsair spawn and blown the spawn up for hours at a time hoping that would reset it, all with no luck whatsoever.
on thing is sure though, when the switch is flipped kessel is a fun place to be. tons of mobs, no lag, tier 5 BS spawns... it's nice.

I don't know that its anything intentional. Same thing happens on the ground. Every once in a while the spawns will break, sometime that means nothing spawns and sometimes that means tons of stuff spawn all over the place.
Yeah, except spawns have been broken in Kessel for a good few months now.
I loved it when the spawns freaked out.
OK, I would also love to find out what triggers this, one, because I have never seen it, and two, because I just went there to kill my 30 rebs with an alt, and all my regular wp I had previously made were useless. I would cruise around FOREVER and never see any ships. The place was empty! No players either.
I suspect that the spawn rate in Kessel is related to the number of player characters in the zone.
