Thread: Odd situation with Master mission for Freelance

So, I'm a Staff Sgt on the Imp side(ground), and I'm about to start my Master Freelance mission chain.

I get told to go to Corellia and talk to an Admiral Burke. I do this, no prob. (funny, why's he not in his Imp uniform? *scratches head* ) I get the mish, then notice that it has me killing IMPERIAL FIGHTERS in Kessel. Of course, my guildmates that are Imp Pilots can't do a thing to help me, so about 90min and 30 Imps later, I get the mish done. Now I have to take out an Imperial Corvette, even though I'm an Imperial Sgt.

Anyone else ran into this problem?

It appears that you might be a Smuggler's Alliance Pilot. The Smuggler's Alliance is a "Rebel" Sympathetic Neutral organization. If you flew for the RSF, then you should have gotten a "Kill the Rebel Scum!" series of Master Missions...

Yep, Smuggler's Alliance.

Other Freelance Pilots that are Imp should be able to help, right? Or am I going to have to find a bunch of Rebels to give me a hand?

I do have to say that you will need to get in bed with some fine examples of Rebel Pilots, if you need help with that mission. The only other "Imps" that are Freelance Pilots who could help you will also be Smuggler's Alliance members and perhaps the truly neutral ones, which I think is Corsec, for some reason...

CorSec would have to be rebel on the ground to help

EDIT: I might have been bugged from DS though. I tried to enter Kessel from Last Nav and still got to kessel as Imp (couldn't shoot TIE's and Rebels were agro) although I didn't get fp for killing rebels like I do when I go to kessel as overt imp.

I think that as long as they enter kessel as neutral (via Last Nav) any freelancer should be able to help. The imps may not be red but they should still be able to damage them.

I had this problem too. I got lucky tho and when I went to Kessel there was a group of Rebs who were there waiting to kill the Imp Vette so I grouped up with them. You could try going to the Imp vette spawn point during your server'sbusiesttimes and see if there is a group already there you can join.

Standing next to Admiral Burke is an Imperial Admiral. After completeing the Tier 4 exit mission as a Corsec Freelance pilot I was told by my Tier 4 trainer that I would need to make a choice whether to report to Admiral Burke (rebel) or the Imperial Admiral to receive my master mission. That was about 8 months ago. Have things changed now? Or is it a bug that Freelance is not being given a choice of sides to complete the master mission now?

umm...how? I'm doin RSF right now and I CAN NOT attack or hurt imperials ships. Shots just go right through em or something. I find it amusing since I'm Rebel on the ground and rebs are all i can kill in kessel

Here's how it works for Privateers:

First off, there's a known bug where, if you go to DS, trips to Kessel will have you semi-Overt for the side you were semi-Overt in DS for (I say semi because you don't get FP doing this ... well, maybe if you declare then take a factional station to Kessel).

Smuggler's Alliance can target all, gets the Vette mission from the Rebel Admiral against the Imperial Vette.

Corsec can target all, can choose which mission to take on.

RSF can only target Rebels, gets the Vette mission from the Imperial Admiral against the Rebel Vette.

Finally, declaring at a station will override faction target selection, preventing attacking your side and allowing attacking the other side ... this is the ONLY way to attack Imperials as an RSF pilot, and only if you're Rebel.
