Thread: Help.. why arent my gunners gaining XP?

If they are novice pilots they are probably already hitting their xp cap, thats why they're not getting any xp. They have to progress through some missions before they can start storing xp. When they get to the point when the mission giver NPC offers Duty missions, thats when they can grind xp as a gunner to help them advance. They will cap very quickly until they're grinding for tier 4.


As long as your ship is responsible for the kill, they should all be getting some xp.

i would agree, last night a friend and i went out in my nova just messing around really and he ended up getting close to 200k xp in under an hour so it does work.

This is probably the #1 reason your gunners aren't getting XP


However, if they are not capped, have them check their XP, then make a couple kills then have them check it again. As long as they are not capped they will get the xp...it just won't always show up on the screen while you are fighting. You have to go check your actual xp totals

I just got my POB up and running recently my problem is my turret operators claim they're gaining no XP. I thought I recalled during my grind when I boarded POB's I gained XP as a gunner..

We were grouped and all. They had prototype ships and were novice pilots. But for some reason they werent gaining XP and we were fighting T4's. Its a bummer because its hard to find crew members anyway and if they're not gaining XP they dont stay on board long. Is there just no XP for gunners who score kills on board an POB???

Remember the first cap is ridiculously low:


Novice pilot cap: 10k xp


1xxx pilot cap: 60k xp


2xxx pilot cap: 200k xp


3xxx pilot cap: 1m xp


4xxx pilot cap: don't know, never hit it before I reached master. (at least 2mil, probably 7.5m)


(1xxx means have at least one box at level 1.)

I think it goes over 7.5m, I've seen someone with a screenie with that much exp at 4444
