is it possible to run operations chair for both factions?
i'm able to fly and run operations in a guildies POB, he is rebel on ground, and i'm imp on ground, but we are both smugglers alliance. or is it only possible if you're in the same squadron?
just seeing if I could help my friends out more, since I know both rebel and imperial master pilots.

I'm somewhat confused on this issue as well. I'm a rebel on the ground and as a pilot, so when I tried to run the operations chair in my friend's YT-1300, it said I was not of the right faction, or something to that effect.

where you grouped?
From what I seem to recall you have to be grouped with the pilot/ship owner in order to use the stuff in the ship.

i resigned from the empire to see if i could run operations in my friend's Nova, it still wouldn't let me because i wasn't the right faction.
could negative rebel points be a factor?
so now i'm civilian on ground, smuggler alliance pilot.
EDIT: yes i was grouped with the pilot

you have to be the same space faction as the ship. hopefully they remove this as it would be a boon to POBs to be able to take anyone up since well not all friends will allways agree to the same factions.

As a Smugglers Alliance freelancer I was able to run the operations chair in my buddy's Decimator, however I am an Imperial on the ground.

I had a friend on my Nova yesterday. Im obviously Rebel Crimson Pheonix and he's smuggler alliance master pilot. The only station he couldn't use was the pilots chair.

update:
I'm still smugglers alliance master and I couldn't run operations in a Nova while being a civilian with positive faction in both imperial and rebel.
so I joined the alliance, and now I can run droid programs in the Nova as a SA pilot.
my research if anyone cares:
Nova - must be rebel on ground, rebel and freelance pilots can run ops chair.
YT-1300 - freelance pilots can do everything, even fly other peoples ship, regardless of ground faction.
lol...confusing as hell

From what i can tell faction specials in the operations chair(gunnery seat) is dependant on the space faction of the operator. So yes an Nova can call in a Bstrike, an Epulse or the dreaded Pirate Trap. Kinda freaky actually.
However droid commands are limited to what was loaded on the droid.
