The recent addition of the "Pack a house" feature got me thinking - wouldn't it be nice if we could "pack" a ship? I spent a lot of time decorating my veteran yacht, but I don't use it often and would love to get the database slot back. I'd love to see this idea applied to the single-player ships, too. You could pack up the ship and keep all the parts and components in it, possibly with a restriction that you can't trade it, to prevent people from trying to sell complete ship kits. It takes a long time to get a ship set up just the way you want it, so this would keep you from the parts-shuffle game if you needed to redeed it for a time.
The ideal solution, though, would be to give us a few more ship slots in our datapad. When JTLS first came out, 3 slots wasn't such a big deal, since there weren't many ships out there. Each pilot profession pretty much had a light, a medium, and a heavy fighter, so you could just redeed the yacht and have your choice of fighter categories, or just get rid of one fighter type. Now there are several choices in each category, so it becomes more difficult to pick what you want.

The Trials of Obi-Wan expansion is adding more space to the datapad, so you might be in luck with this.

You got 3 additional ship slots with RotW, im not sure if that was a pre-order reward. The ToOW slots are only for speeders.

Packed or unpacked wouldn't your ship still take one spot in your datapad? Not sure how packing solves the problem.
Assuming of course you meant packing the ship in the same manner as a house.
