Well I made Ace last year, a month or two after JtL came out, and I never got much of anything in terms of components, just one low level laser when I did Freelance. All the Imperial trainers gave out was a TIE suit, and the Jacket/Helm at Ace.

You did get them...

They were added to your inventory the moment you spoke to the trainer after completing the mission without any system or conversation messages whatsoever, and there is nothing to distinguish them from any other space loot *unless you knew what to look for*....

Name, or exceptional / strange statistics, et cetera.
SO many people think they didn't get them... when in fact they did, and either sold them to the chassis dealer, or destroyed them due to a lack of space... or RE'd them without even knowing they were a reward and not loot.

Yes, I realize this may be a dumb question, so sorry in advance.

I've readthe stickies, the FAQ, the thread about new ships and stuff, etc... and I haven't seen anything about these new "quests" for components? I see talk in threads about a special level 6 engine, or a level 8 something else, but no mention of where or how or what to do to get 'em. I'm sure the info is somewhere and I'm just missing it. So, could someone please post a link so I can check it out? Thanks.

Start of with Nym's star map quest if you've not yet done that... best to go look in the games guide section for a guide on that...

but you start it by going to narmle on rori (think it was narmle) go right out of the starport there, head out for about 500m ... you should come across a box next to the crashed escape pod, loot the item inside said box, inspect it then go see nym in the narmle hotel, just next to the narmle starport.

btw if i remember rightly... you get the lvl 8 engine your talking about, aswell as a RE lvl 7 sheild, lvl 8 (i think) armour and a lvl 9 or 10 weapon... sorry memories alittle fuzzy.

All v. good stuff, the reward items stats can vary alittle, which i noticed when a few friends did the quest. keeping them stashed away till i've got more stuff to do a near perfect RE job with them.
