Intresting. Think ill strip down a ship, but in a fat arse L9 with all points into speed, same for booster, and see how fast i can get it. What the hell, aint got much else to do.

Heh, I always find it interesting to see how people lay out their HUDs. Personally, I find the radar more useful immediately below the center reticles, so I don't have to look far. Otherwise, my layout is nearly the same.

I hit 1997 in my Vak last night, but I only had a MarkIV booster. I'm going to try a Mark V booster tonight, I should hit 2050 or so. I think 2100 is possible in a Vaksai.

Hit an even 2000 in the Actis the other night using a mk5 engine and booster w/ engine overload 4. The engine is 117.9 I believe, and can't remember stats on the booster. Not a useful configuration for the ship, but going from the station hangar to 1k away in 6 seconds is fun.

I hit an interesting bug a while back with my Y-wing LP. My engines were "well used" and I issued a /vrepairother on a guild associate who was completing a mission. Result: My engines disappeared.... I waited, called for support... engines didn't appear... did it again... engines reappeared.... engines read as -7 hp... now here's where the fun starts....

Y-wing LP: Top sustained speed without booster: 5200, with boster 5800

My Y/P/R was incredible, doing flips every 0.5 seconds...

I asked a guildie to join me and Kessel... told him to line up behind me... said "watch this"....slammed booster..."Holy crap!"... dida full review of Kessel vette Despawn and Spawn point in less then15 seconds...

As tempting as it was to keep it needed to be corrected... landed... returned to orbit... speed reset...

But for those few minutes I could honestly claim that I had the fastest engines in SWG...ever....

i used to put my radar there too, but my joystick ends up blocking my view of it, so i moved it to the right. i wish i could make it bigger like you can on the ground.

You mean centered at the bottom of the screen? I meant right under the reticle, as in nearly touching it.

Holy wow... I'm glad I wasn't in Kessel that night, if I saw a CFA Y-wing doing that I'd be scared to ever enter DS again!

hehe... I was tempted to keep it for a bit and to find a group of Imperials doing missions. I would have flown thrown the pack, disappeared, come back... could just picture the chatter:

**WOOSH

"Jesus, WTH! What was that?"

**WOOSH

"There it is a again... holy crap, was that a Y-wing?"

**WOOSH

"Crap! WTH is going on here!?!?"

...decided it wasn't too sporting... but it would have been fun.

AV21 > Master Ranger.

Overall, the only speed "boost" that we get is from Terrain Negotiation. We end up something like 2-3 times as fast as other players, but only when crawling. Walking, the only benefit we get is that we don't slow down when walking on hills (and your hill speed caps out at Master Scout or Exploration 4 + BE clothing). If you want to walk faster, get yourself a pair of cybernetic legs.
