Really they are so completely different there is no comparison. 1 is a multiplayer ship and requires a crew and escorts, the other is a single person ship.

All the multiplayer ships are pretty gimped right now, unfortunately. They do make good yachts, though.

Yep. Better comparison is comparing the Oppressor to the Firespray. And on THAT one, I say firespray hands down. A good 40k more mass more than makes up for one less missile launcher. Plus I can paint my firespray, and as a bonus, it makes people go "oooohhhh"...considerably more unique than an oppressor.

Firesprtay is a piece of junk in terms of pvp and a very good (too good) practicing target. What diference does it make if with the current damage you will die not from 3 but from 2 shots?

I had the pleasure of dueling a friend in his Firespray. I have to say that it would make a GREAT B-Wing replacement.

Sure, a Firespray has more mass, but what good is that when you present a target as big as a barn to your opponent?

If the cross-section of the Firespray wasn't so huge, people would actually be trying to buy them. As it stands, they are good for bragging rights, but make an easy target.

I don't know about the escorts required for most things in the Deci (in my case the YT). Thus far I've been captaining The Flare for over a month and it has only been destroyed 3 times (1 on a corvette raid with 19 escorts, 1 against another YT in Dath with no engineering crew, 1 running a level mission for one of my gunners with no copilot). With an engineer or 2, a good Co-Pilot, anda good loadout on equipment we do MORE than just fine. Black Sun duty missions are no sweat in the Flare with all crew members present (espescially using Shield Shunt in conjunction with Cap OL 3).

true enough - but I bet you don't go to deep space that often in the flare ^_^

a good crew (including a pilot who understands the needs of his gunners) is actually the biggest need for flying a Multiship effectively - escorts are optional unless you are doing dangerous things like attacking three corvettes + escorts in deepspace

and yes shield shunt and cap overload 3 do make multiplayer ships a little more viable for high end combat - you can fit the 60000k mass 57 regen cap in there which means you can shield up pretty well especially with a fast droid.

No you're right against the BIG game an escort IS required. I go to deep space often but it is usually dead. I keep hoping to find others there looking for some real action but no luck. I hope to get together a squadron B Wings and take out all the Imps in the sector soon but for some reason most people seem to fear Deep Space on my server.

The biggest key to using an MP ship effectively is communication. I've macroed some chat commands to issue orders to the crew. Things like "Guns forward we're dogfighting now!" to "Hest, get that patched NOW!" to "SHIELDS!". But I do agree the relationship between pilot and gunner is key. I've had everyone who guns for the Flare (we have a rotating crew of about 15) to macro "No shot" so that I can look at the situation and adjust slightly accordingly.

I still think that there should be some even BIGGER loot being dropped (shields and armor) to turn these tanks into the beasts that they should be.

Firespray vs Oppressor == Oppressor

I have both, and have flown both heavily, and even after getting used to the wonky gun placement on the FS, the Opp just turns WAY better and presents a much smaller target.

That said, on PvE Tier 3 and 4 mission help for friends, I usually use the Firespray for the spacebomb room, that and the Tier3-4 enemies can't scratch me much and I can turn good enough in the FS to make it viable.

Kessel or Deep Space...Oppressor, thanks

No MP ships are not gimped like one poster said,my guildy has his YT and had been tinkering with it for over a month now to get it just right, being a master sw gives him better understanding of how to make his personal equip they way he needs it.

His Yt the skifter runs great we have a great gun crew i am master nuetral pilot as well so i run the copilot chair and take care of the flight commands and being a master doc i take care of the crew when we are on fire etc,,once we get big damage i leave chair and do my repairs as well as another guildy that goes with us.

All in all its a great ship he spent much time setting it up well,we like to take it to deepspace and bang on the sd on occassion lotsa funs there for us since the yt is such a big target for the SD's guns.

/Agree with one poster communication is the key.

Forget macros teamspeak we are all on it and are in constant comms its great and that makes a heck of a difference, actually id suggest a communication program like that or others for peeps its a huge help when fighting in space.

one way to inprove comunnications on mp ships is to use teamspeak2 for voice chat works reall wel if on broad band doesn't mess up you connection. my guild we been using now everyday work great both about mp ship and between fighters and mp ships durring raid on corvettes gunboat and the star destroyer and it alot easier to organize strike and isssue warning's and such the adjuast to situations.

just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun
