Hi guys
Well I'm sure others have done this to but a few folks on Scylla did take down the Star Destroyer in Deep space tonight. I higly recommend it. It was great fun and the graphics are very cool. Good Job SOE!!
To answer a few questions right off the bat.
No this wasn't easy. - we had to look the thing over and do a bit of planing first.
This did take a group of people.
It is very painfull if you do this wrong.

Tip for all. After you destroy it, leave. When it respawns in a few minutes, it isn't happy.

ok, I give you 5 stars for actually taking a go at it, but I'm kinda disappointed that you did it with that few ppl.

Well, I've been going out to Deep Space on a regular basis and I've noticed that many of the Rebels NPCs out there have been doing a lot of damage to the ISD to begin with. But, it seems kinda odd that when NPCs go after NPC ships, they do 'ok' to damage, but, when they go after PCs, they are deadly, especially Tier 5 ships. But, it seems that when the Tier 5 Rebel ships attack the ISD, they can do heavy damage to it, but, I've never seen the ISD take out those B-Wings that are doing the damage to it. I've had to jump in and kill off those B-Wings to keep it off the ISD's back. And, there are spots it seems that the ISD has blind spots in, which, one, I'm guessing is underneath right in the docking bay area. And, of course, I bet coming in from behind it will keep you safe as well, and if you use missiles, they will go right to where you are targeting and hit it. So, in a way, it can be easy to destroy it, even though it starts out with 100 turrets on it, they just don't seem to be very accurate.

/sigh
I never see folks trying this in Sunrunner DS... although I WANT to see this happen.. after all.. I am a loyal Imperial Subject. Nobody attacks MY base ship and lives to tell the tale of it...

This ISD was quite defenseless after we destroyed all 100 turrets.
And yes, it was quite disappointing to not see any Imperials out there. Too many people on both sides are still busy declaring themselves 'TEH BEST EVAR' after their mind fire weapon kills someone.

Day late dollar short on this one guys. Its great to see rebs in DS..even if it ins't on Radiant, but there are posts of guys soloing the ISD. A single Bwing can take the thing down with the right stratagy. Which is really, really sad.
The thing has a dozen blind spotsand no fighter cover thanks to the Devs.

Gratz to you bro.
But next time you approach the SD... take a good hard look at the bottom of it.... You should see something interesting... or rather LACK of something interesting.
Note ... it IS possible to blow up the Rebel starbase solo.

There is a weakness in the DS factional targets. IF ... and I emphasize IF you do it correctly ... you can destroy the major targets in about 6-8 passes.
Also note that to killa SD or Starbase... you do NOT need to kill all the guns. Unless they change it there are only FOUR major targets ... guns do not NEED to be destroyed but will make your job easier.
I wrote smoke a small walkthrough of how to solo a starbase and requested that it be beefed up a little.... ok well ALOT same with the loot that drops from it.
One little thingI DID notice... is that periodically rebel vettes and gunships will spawn FROM the rebel starbase... give it cover... the SD has no such deal.
Heck.. I wish they put in lambda shuttles in there for the rebels to kill.
Once again.. it was a major task to kill all the guns then go for the other parts... so much respect for you for taking down the SD in the way it was MEANT to be taken down.
But for me .. dogfighting PC's in DS is much more fun than blowing up giant targets.

I wish Sunrunner rebels were smart enough to try to do that. Sunrunner DS is owned by imperials and any rebels that i find which is at the most 2. Anyway good job and i hope sunrunner rebels will attempt to do that sometime because i will gladly put a stop to them. *evil laugh*

I rather suggest to stop your "solo" talk and just move out, get a good team together and start with playing this game.
It's embarrassing to read through all these posts of template kids not able to interact with a team. Even if an ISD comes out easier than expected, it's still an awesome mission objective to let your group play with. Better start doing that instead of referring to suicide solo runs from late beta times
Thanks for the fun and group we had out there - was a blast.
