I went to moenia to start and finnished that tier. The Vortex Squad droid send me out to the Abandoned Rebel Base on dantoine.in the middle of nowhere.
He lists a few duty missons. Some of the destroy missions have no way points and I basically fly around and IF I find imperials I kill them, and the mission never seams to end
I'd like to get these done asap so I do not have travel so far each time I die or have to log off to pick up the missions again
In genral Im confused about how the second tier works so if someone could explain in a bit of detail what I actually have to do , it be a great help and would alliviate some confusion. Thanks,

Tier 2 is all XP based not mission based, so you need to start grinding xp and then train your boxes asap...Tier 3 is back to missions and Tier 4 XP again although there are missions you must complete in Tier 4 also so its actually both mission and xp based.

Many duty missions never end. They will keep going until you've had enough. As for travelling, there's a mission you can get from the Dantooine space station that will grant you landing rights at the base.
Tier 2 is a combination of grinding XP and story missions. To advance you need enough XP to fill a skill box and to complete the special missions your trainer will give you. As a bonus you'll start earning some nice toys for your ship too.

Mission details in the clickied post are accurate, just be sure to declare as a ground combatant before you go, or you cant get inside the base.

There is a good tier 2 xp grind that I recommend, I took all the missions from Yavin Spacestation including the False Massassi missions and that served me pretty well for grind xp (beware the final False Massassi mission against the tier 2 cruiser. Bring friends, very painful if you are tier 2). It also didn't bore me to tears like some do.

That is odd that your destoy mission did not give you any waypoints, it really should. Check your journal to make sure your are in the right system.
Also, do the mission from the Dantooine station so you can land at the abandoned rebel base. Save yourself a bit of time.
