I recently went from a the z95 to a y wing and am having problems with its manuverablity.
I'm not quit sure what parts I want and what stats I want on them for better manuverability, or even if its possible. Any idea's.

You need an engine with better pitch/yaw/roll, but the Y-wing will never maneuver like your Z95. The shift from Z95 to Y-wing is a difficult one. If you do not have equipment 2 yet, I'd stick with the Z95 until you do. Then use a L2 (REd if possible) loot engine and capacitor, L3 crafted armor, shield, blaster, etc.

It's a fighter bomber, it will alwaysfly like a brick. L10 engine and EO3 or EO4 does help, but that isn't an option for you. Either go back to the z-95 or change tactics. Stop chasing and start jousting.

I had a hell of a time with the transition from Z95 to Y-Wing. And I love the Y-wing it has always been my favorite ship from the movies. It's a beast by comparison, a gorilla with a big hammer vs. a squirrel with a sword.
It is never going to maneuver like the Z-95 or any other fighter no matter what you do. Upgrade your components, but the best way to fight it is to get really good at controlling your throttle and boost.
Dump your throttle to 50% or below to turn and then boost to close, you are never going to out turn fighters so quit worrying about it. Like the man said, joust, to try maneuvering.
With the boost after the turn, you can get maybe one or two shots before the fighters get away.
Use the mass. My Y-wing (longprobe in this case, but still works well for the normal one. Get a passenger on that gun) is armored like a tank and has more shield than the deathstar. I was unable to max out the mass on that thing even with every slot filled. This is with stock or looted components lvl 3 and below.
The problem will come in power. I finally stopped having power problems when I got a reactor that was over 14k.
Since you are jousting having a load of punch for the shots that hit is critical. In my tier 2 Y-wing, a tier 3 fighter would not survive the jousting pass if I hit well (Including my gunner). This comes down to BIG GUNS. Pepper them with missiles whatever. Missiles are expensive so I kept them for when they were really necessary but had the max guns I could carry.
If I got into a situation where I felt missiles were required I did not use them sparingly figuring that once I reach the decision threshold I had chosen to kill the target with them as well as guns. So I would unload them as often as possible until the target was dead, relying on my guns for the rest of the engagement if necessary.
On guns be certain to check not only the damage but the penetration. A gun that does 1800 damage but only has a penetration of .4 is not going to kill as often as a 1400 pt gun with a .6 penetration.
As soon as you have access to it put IFF scramble on your hotbar. It will save your life and your ship. If you get in over your head, spoof and run. Max speed, boost and get the hell out. Hyperspace to a different location if you have to. Sometimes the spoof works for part of the mob but not all if parts of it are detached and you can get jumped again.
Bottom line. Remember the role of the craft, the Y-Wing is a fighter/bomber, she's not a good anti-fighter ship unless you are dealing with other heavy fighters. Killing TIE bombers in a Y-Wing is very satisfying. =) Also, once you get to the point where you can do it, killing gunboats in the Y-Wing is not a fight, it's an execution.
My best time on a gunboat with a Y-Wing is 15 seconds. =)
She was already wounded....but 60% shields is barely hurt, right...right?

When looking for engines for your Ywing, pay more attention to the Pitch Yaw Roll values than the top speed. Also, ignore Engines with 'odd level' certifications (level 3,5) Levels 2,4 drop with better values.

Someone already said it, but it is worth mentioning again
... drop your throttle to turn. I seem to be doing just fine with 60-75% throttle, but that is personal taste I think... I love my Y-Wing LP... but I still remember the first time I got into a Y-wing I got slaughtered so fast (several times) it really wasn't funny
... it all came down to the turning thing...

I never got used to the sluggish movement of the Ywing, but once I got a decent gun in it, I blazed through the missions I had to do. In fact I just skipped the Longprobe altogether, I was moving fast enough to not care. At first I tried to fight in the Ywing as I did in the Z95, but that just was not working at all. So what I did in the end, got the biggest shield I could get, I think it was 700 front/back and slowed down to about 110 or so speed, where you can still turn within the chassis limits fast enough to adjust, but slow enough to let them come to you and eat your blasters. Jousting at it's best, didn't really have a problem with anything in my Tier range, then I got my Xwing and never looked back.

I just recently switched to the Y from the z-95 and it tookme a few minutes to get it all figured out. Dumping your speed to about 50% - I dump mine to less then 50% but I've got a speedier engine then normal, I think it was a salvaged part. anyway, since I started dumping my speed I managed to keep up with just about everything except for the occasional Interceptor coming at me.
I cna't remember the exact details on my engine but the roll and yaw rates are about 47-49 and my speed is around 56. I'm not sure how it compares to other stuff but so far I haven't been able to find anything different.

I just match speed with target and try to aim for their nose if I can, ships seem to have more armor hit points in their rear. You can't shake em in a y-wing but you can close the distance if you can read their moves a few steps ahead.

i put in a 74 speed engine with 61 roll/pitch/yaw. Worked like a charm. but ofcourse, pnce i got the x wing, i could never go back to the y wing

Im having a problem with my weapons. I can not fire my blasters and my Ion cannon seperatly or at the same time. I do have enough juice in the reactor for everything equiped. If anyone can help me figure this out it would be great.

The second gun on the basic Ywing is controlled by a gunner. Invite a friend along, and they can shoot, but that't the only way it will work.
