The Y-Wing "Longprobe" ship is a single player of the Y-Wing. It allows you to use 2 weapon slots and have the pilot control both.

The normal Y-Wing is the ship you're looking for. The copilot (your friend) mans the turret while the pilot (you) flies the ship and shoots the front guns. You can't switch places or move around in any way.

You cannot take a friend up in your Longprobe. You need a regular Y-wing for that.

And no, you won't be able to switch positions.

I use two (or three for an x-wing) weapons at the same time with great results. Where did you read that?

That's not counting droid programs, and if you don't spend 1 million credits on a capacitor. When you get to master or tier 4 droids, you should be able to fit reactor overload 4 and capacitor overload 3. That will keep your capacitor from running out of juice.
