I havnt been up in space for about a month or so due to real life events and such, Im ready to continue on with my freelance missions and im just checking to see if the space missions are still "BS'd" to the point where you need 5-6 people to help do a mission that was given to 1 person to do?

BS'd?
It depends on the pilot. A good pilot can solo every mission. Some pilots need a bit of help. I would like to see missions that are so hard that a good pilot needs help.

I solo'd every mission until this last one, First goto about 20 wp's and fight some pirates that try to jump you then head to a wp and take out3-5 fast escort ships "which are no problem" then take out a heavy armored yt-1300 that can shoot in any direction and has very tough armor. Ive talked to several people that completed the mission and they all told me that they had 4-5 people help them.

Ahh, I understand. Chances are, you're going to need a friend or two. What is your strategy for the YT? If you just fly straight at it guns blazing like a smaller ship, it will chew you to bits. Try to approach from the top or bottom so only one gun can fire at you, take several passes to knock out the shields, armor, and the gun on the side you are approaching. After that, only a few more shots to take it down. You could also try throwing a Space Bomb or two at it from a distance.

I tried several ways, Charging in and not firing until im right on it - from maximum range and from above or below. It keeps rotating on its axis So have to keep swithing my target from turret 1 or 2, The closest ive been was to disable the escorts thenI chargedin at full speed targeting 1 turret and blast it with everything I have then hit the booster to get out of range thenmake another pass when my sheildscharged back up. I made about 3 passes then it warped out and I failed the mission.
another time I tried the same thing and I let some imperial npc's attack it abit before I tried it and It barley took any damage from them.

My biggest gripe about the space missions are The missions are for you to prove yourself as a pilot not to prove that you can get a bunch of people to help you - 1 person gets the mission 1 person should be able to do it. We cant get group level missions on the ground without being in a group but in space were being forced to take group level missions. They could atleast let us train when we have enough Xp - Im just about maxed on xp until I train

I understand your frustration. I also forgot about the YTs spinning like that, it definately makes it more challenging... Since the YT and the escort are going to concentrate on you, having a friend or two bombard the YT while you do an attack run might be all you need to get past it. I wish I could be more help.
What Freelance squadron is this by the way? I just dropped rebel pilot and am working my way up CorSec.

I started in coronet then went to lok then dant. Lok is also fun if your negative nym faction points, just about need to buff just to go report to your controller.
