Weapon effectiveness against shields and armor..... if it is .97 , does that mean it will do 97% of the rated dmg or will the shiels or armor actually absord 97% of the damage.
Also, what is better agaisnt nimble fighters? Concussion missles or protons?

.97 means it will do 97% of its listed damage against that form of protection. As far as missiles go, it kind of depends: can you get lock and land a missile hit before you knock down its shields? If you can, I'd probably say concussions are better, just because they'll be doing much more total damage per hit, but if you're using missiles both against shields and armor, then definitely go with protons.

I'm going to say Protons would be your best bet as a new pilot. It just doesn't matter if you hit shields or armor with them, they'll probably do the same dmg. I prefer to use 3 Mark III Proton Launchers on my TIE: Oppressor due to the fact that they are effective against just about anything I go against.
