Hi all!
Lately I'm consumed with doubts, now i'm wondering about this command...
i've read the Droid Rutine FAQ and it says that overloads 4 induce decay on the components. Untill today i allways used the overloads III to avoid this, but since i'm building "pvp only" ships, i've been wondering if that decay count in deep space.
Is EO4 worth using? How much decay does it make on the component?
Thanks!

problem is most people dont have legendary reactors to even think of running EO4 or WO4 =)

Heh, no probs with that
I just want to know... how much decay does it to the engine, and if that decay is repairedafter leaving DS ^^

No decay if you are using deep space. When you leave deep space, voluntarily or otherwise, your overloads will be turned off and everything will be at full condition.
Yes it is worth it and you certainly do not need a legendary reactor. To run E04 AND W04 you do, but just E04 is easy. Just keep in mind that it increases reactor drain by 10x and choose a reactor accordingly.

It causes damage to the engine (I believe the Droid breakdown post says the amount). Decay happens when you repair, for every 10 points repaired, your engine decays 1 point - exception to this is leaving DS. You can use the lvl 4 overloads outside DS if you Repair Little, Repair Little, Repair Half, Repair All at a space station, in that order provided no other damage has been done to your components except the overload damage.

EO4 is not only useful but is essential in PVP. The key to use it is to use looted/RE'd engines, as it is very inefficient in terms of energy and crafted engines tend to drain around 1k more energy without overloading- this is multiplied naturally with overloads. RO4 is essential, WO3 is highly recommended BEFORE EO4 is started so it reduces weapons power consumption. The result is better maneuvering, which is vital in PVP. In PVE I dont use it to save the hassle of jumping to DS every time I finish my job and turning is not that important there.

hehehe... run Reactor over 4 to get Engine over 4, cap over 4, and wep over 2... but the engine over 4 was causing too much decay on my baby, so went back to engine over 3... piece of cake when you have a reactor at 21k energy, and under 20k mass.... side note.. I used to run a reactor with only 14k energy, and my krayt sitting on the ground rated at just over 13k needed, and still could run engine over 4, and cap over 4 with reactor over 4....

No, W04 increases cap and reactor energy consumption.
