Thread: New to PvP how should I start?

Obviously I don't want to start out going to DS in my JSF. Should I start out by taking an expendable ship into DS get a feel for PvP and would a small fast ship be better than a large heavy one for learning purposes?

i think in deep space it doesnt matter, nothing decays, and in reg space decay isnt as bad as it used to be. but they need to tone down pvp in space, right now it takes 1-3 shots to kill a player. not to fun if u ask me

>>i think in deep space it doesnt matter, nothing decays,

If he were a reb or imp pilot it would matter. As he would most likely be overt before entering DS for FP. Factional deep space stations are a bottleneck in overt traffic going to kessel or DS. A smart pilot should expect to encounter hostile activiy there, at any time.

>> and in reg space decay isnt as bad as it used to be

Eh?

A 5 to 10 min dogfight isn't very fun either. Takes about that long to score a SINGLE hit sometimes.

Check out Ducimus' primer for sure, but come out to our next PVP event, Pace. It should be this Saturday.

I'll head up and teach you some tricks between now and then if you want, too
