Washell,

*whistle* I could'nt imagine farming 1 million in credits in a weekend much less that much XP. But, then again, I have not played that hard-core since 6 months after launch. Wound up getting so burned out that the thought of even doing that anymore gives me the shivers. Anyway, the question has been answered and I seem to be stirring up more trouble than I intended so my apologies.

SheenaBrelya,

I honestly did not feel that I was venting nor that the quotes I put in were of the same vein. That they were taken as such surprises me but, then again, in retrospectit should not after taking Washell and your posts into account. Keep in mind as well that, honestly, I had NO idea that this had been going on for awhile. I took a hiatus and left the game shortly before JTL was even released and only just came back a week ago. Just saying that for what it is worth.

I did not bother with the other boards since, really, this seemed to be the best place to ask and I only went back to about early June as far as posts go and only found that one thread. In either case, you are correct in that I probably could have, and in retrospect, should have done more searching. That is my mistake and it is something I do apologize for.

As to flying either ship, then why is there a bug list sticky that is saying some people are not able to do so? I got the distinct impression that this was working as designed, especially considering the "you have not completed thequest" error,so assumed that the same would apply for both craft hense my reply as such. Granted, I will admit I'm still not sure if the bug is that you can not fly the ship or if it is that you have the certification for it since I've seen neither actually supported yet both mentioned by a few people in my guild and in the sticky post at the top of this forum.

Given the quests required to recieve the ships, it makes NO sense to allow the opposite faction to get them.

It only took me two days to get both ships anyway....so it's really not a big deal.

The problem that I have with the situation is that the Dev's seemed to put zero thought into the consequences of their design. I'm perfectly fine with having theETA-2 be an Imperial ship, but what I can't stand is that the Dev's introduced a system that encourages switching of factions to get a prized possesion. It makes a mockery of the GCW factions.

Granted this is just a game, but don't you wantfactional loyalty to mean at least a little bit?? It either has meaning or we are just a bunch of rats in the Dev's sick and twisted experiment.

I would love to get an ETA-2 but I don't enjoy the power-grinding necessary to get one and going Imperial even for a few days ruins the immersion that I'm trying to achieve in the game.

PJ:

Hope you don't think you're getting raked over the coals for nothing, because you do raise a good question. It's just one the devs have answered, and while it doesn't satisfy everyone who wants an Eta-2 or an ARC, it does make sense within the context of the quests. This is just how they decided to run it.

Definitively, if you ran the quest for the ARC or the Eta-2, you should be able to pilot it so long as you're 4xxx pilot. If you can't, that's a bug, and the various threads discussing that are there so I can learn when it isn't working and can pass that info along to the devs, who have made good progress addressing those issues. If you've still got problems deeding either of them, let me know and I'll bring it up ASAP.

Good luck, if you decide to switch over for either one of these.

You can forward this as well, if you want.

I did the quest for the ARC a few days after release, got the deed, waited for the bugfix, it unpacked just fine. I decided to get the Actis, so I deeded all my ships but a Heavy Z95 and an X-wing (all loaded up, oldest re-grinding trick in the book ), got the Actis deed, and changed back to Rebel.

So I grind back to Master, jobs a goodun, my Actis unpacks fine (although I was shocked at the large mass on such a tiny ship). Now I tried to undeed my ARC - oh dear! I haden't done the quest, apparently.

I went back to the Queen in Naboo, and got to do the quest all over again! I got another ARC deed, and I can unpack that fine, and my Actis still works.

Consisce (sp?) version: Working ARC, switch faction, get Actis, switch back to Rebel, Actis works, ARC broken, quest seems to automatically reset, new ARC deed, works.

Just roleplay you're going covert on a mission to learn about imperial tactics, ships and steal some equipment.

Immersion can be dealt with.
