That is correct. You need to earn the million xp for each box and do an exit quest after you train each box.

AFter I finished my first skill box (for xp) I got a set of missions (deliver some cargo and stuff) which I finished. However I did not get any skill boxes for that mission? Is that correct?
Is there any missions you will do for skill box?
