Hi, I have this problem with space thatcauses me not to have any fun in space or to be able to do anything.

My problem is when i begin to move in space, everything begins to warp around including myself. ex. I tried a space mission today where the NPCs would warp 500m-2000m from where they were and i could warp approx 300m from where i was.

I have 512 RAM Radeon 9200 SE vid card and a cable connection im out of ideas on what the problem is. Btw i have also lowered almost all of my settings and i have gotten no improvement.

Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

More RAM would of course help quite a bit, try for at least 1GB if you can.
Another thing, I'm not sure of the details, but I've read about the 'bumblebee' effect concerning certain joysticks and their drivers. I suggest you do a search for that term, it might help you out some.

Might try defragging your HD too, with that low amount of RAM you're paging pretty hard and if it's highly fragmented you'll encounter a LOT of 'hitch'.

If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.

I run with that RAM on a laptop, no less, and I am not experiencing that kind of lag. In fact, one of the few places I rarely lag is in space, though, I do get the bumblebee effect from time to time, sometimes much worse than others, but, never enough to be more than a nuissance. My settings are also on most minimums.

I have the same card (9200) in a set up with an athlon 64 3200+, 512 adsl, and 1024 RAM. The game runs fine for me, though it is choppy if I dont ctrl+alt+del and get rid of all the extra processes I have running. Then I can run it with everything at full (except nebula density) and everything is fine!

There's a long thread on the issue.

I personally found that the very first posting (despite being a bit cryptic) was very helpful with my computer: go to the bios and disable fsb spread spectrum and agp spread spectrum.

Other people reported that this didn't help, but there are numerous more fixes in the thread for other problems encountered, most likely you can find something helpful there.
