If youre talking about the gunboats that twirl around and chase you then they are never easy.
Only chance really is to get them is usually jousting them.

If you are disabling it, and still alive afterwards, you've got the whole battle down, from there it's just honing;

  • Are you coming in too close on your straphing runs

  • Have the best Shields for your level

  • The Best Weapons?

  • How is your evasive technique?

  • What Droid Commands are you running?

If you are taking Tier V's in Kessel, then you know about the blind spots, etc, plus, you are doing damage against them. Plus, as an Imp at x-x-x-3 you have access to two very good Droid Commands, WO3 and EO3. That you were alive at all after tackling the non-Kessel GB's and Not here complaining about the disparity of these vs. the Kessel ones, I'd say you are running a CtSS command as well, and probably a COx too.

I still get tagged, sometimes Hard, by GB's Tier IV and V, outside of Kessel and DS, for me it's a matter of evading and situational awareness. I've recently took out two Tier IV imp GB's at the tail end of some trainer mission, don't remember which one. First time I got fried by doing something dumb, second time was the charm, and did well, no system damage at all (I don't fly with armor anymore, usually). For me it was strictly a matter of Jinking, rolling, boosting, and being aware of where and what. Though that went well, as have others. I do know I need to work on my straphing.

When I do my Vettes, I still rely entirely on missiles. That is one area I am working on. This will also help Me on my GB technique.

I usually corkscrew while I joust them since they roll to allow thier guns to fire at you, you can't approach from underneath but if you corkscrew with thier roll to stay relativly below them,you can minimize the amount of time they have to fire without sacrificing too much accuracy

"Jinking" is kicking the rudder left and right to throw aim off if someone is firing at you.

now if they'd institute side slip as described in the novels(easily plausible in space not in atmospheric flight truly though) we'd be all set to truly fly a space fighter

With my new alt character useing a heavy tie and loving it, I do loops, juking,everything except fly in a strait line. If the mission timer allows me I try to find a group of friendly NPCs and drag the GB to them hoping they will engage the GB and help me with the damage and draw the turret fire away from me.

With my ACE pilot I use an RGI which gives me a false sence of absolute uberness because the hit box is so tiny no NPC can touch me.

I'd think at the very least you would need to get up a tier4 forthe tie advanced?!?
