I was wondering what the best possible congigureations you friends have for the YT1300. I got master last night, loaded it, and with engine top speed of 114, it has the flight ratio of a manhole cover. Any suggestions? Thanks

Top speed on crafted engines is 119 I think. Try to find one of those bad boys with at least mid 60's PYR then run EO4 and strap in a nice RE'd lvl10 booster. At about 2/3 throttle it will move almost as well as a light fighter. But do keep in mind that unless you've got a tactic worked out with your gunners, they wont be able to hit a thing if you're moving like an A wing.

I recommend training your gunners to only fire what you are tracking. You keep the bad guy in your window and angle yourself so both gunners can hit the target and you'll be able to fly like a fighter pilot instead of a freighter pilot. I have yet to try this tactic in a YT but it works great in a VT

Even better than a crafted engine would be a uber looted lvl8 or lvl10 RE job. The manhole cover manuverability is compensated for a little by a high YPR. Granted, these great lvl8 and lvl10 looted engines are rare they are best. Put in a crafted mkV booster with 50+ boost and you will have a great handling yt with some decent speed when you need it.

I've got a lvl10 engine with 79/78/77 PYR and just waiting for that 99+ speed lvl10 loot engine to match with it. This will make a great engine in my Nova and Y-8.

Very good point. For POB ships I like crafted better simply for the speed. I have yet to see an RE'd engine hit 119 top speed. That's not to say they can't. I'm sure there is that Holy Grail Lvl10 engine out there that we are all waiting to get.

True you won't have the PYR that you get from an RE engine but running EO4 and running at 2/3 speed you'll have all the manuverability you need to take out any tier5 fighter and maybe even a player or two. And if all else fails, you hit that 50+ booster, along with that 119 engine and whatever you can't dust you'll be able to outrun.

And as for that nice 79/78/77 PYR lvl10 you're working on I wouldn't waste that on a Nova or a Y-8. Hold out for a few 80+ PYR engines to loot then stick that bad boy in your Heavy X or a JSF/B-22

Elite POB Shields are 3500 front/back roughly, definitely worth the investment.

Elite POB Armor is about 300-500 points better, also worth looking into.

Elite Capacitors can hit nearly 65 regen with 1100 energy, which makes for awesome capshuntage when you do get in trouble.

Elite Boosters are bugged, but will still hit nearly 50 speed increase with an overdriver, which is VERY nice.
