Thread: Does anybody use a Kimo for space mining?

I've got a used Kimositting on my vendor after losing a few *ahem* chassis hitpoints in a Corvette battle. Since I'm also trying to grind shipwright and want to make ADK kits as well I'm wondering if anybody has kitted one out for space mining?
Any suggestions on the best way toequip onefor a tier 3 (about 3/4 through my first tier 4 box) pilot?
Or if the idea sucks let me know and I'll leave it on the vendor and do the Y-8 quest sometime.

A kimo would make a nice Miner, sure its missing the largest cargo holds, but it does have 3 gun points, and at least a missle point. I would say try it yourself, make the Mk3 Mining Laser, a Tractor Beam, place a nice gun in the last spot for those Pirates.
I have been meanig to set up my alts Kimo for that myself.

Meant Vehicle Restoration Kits, not ADK's. 
Thanks for the reply - I'll drag that Kimo out of mothballs and start adding parts.

I have used my Rhix since the beginning of space mining and I'm sad to say, I think I'm going to retire it.I've been master forever and currently a Shipwright, so it's time to move on and make myself a bada$$Krayt. I've never used a Kimo for mining, so it's possible, but unless you need asteroids now, I'd wait til you get that Tier 4 box and pick yourself up a Rhix. It's the best darn non-master ship out there, especially for mining(yes, I know, I'm biased). I have kept this ship for the last six months and flied hardly any of my other ships. It's got enough mass to do just about whatever you want to it. And yes, I know,it accelerates like snail in honey, and if you want to turn within the same galaxy, you have to slow down to do so, but I'll still miss that big hunk of metal.
Is that pathetic to actually miss flying a stupid ship? Oh well, I really don't care. Besides, now that I think about it, I must not like it too much because I keep forgetting how to spell the darn thing.

Yes, Center weapon mining laser, wing weapon tractor beam, center weapon best weapon you can fit.

I currently use a Kimo for mining. I have used a Krayt in the past. In my experience the Krayt and the Kimo seem to do the job equally well, but of course you have to be a little more creative with mass while using the Kimo. I use the Kimo mainly because I like the look of it a little better and because I can rice it up with winglets. Basically when you talk about the Kimo for mining the same things will apply to the Krayt... like I said, they're about the same (except for those sexy winglets.)
I would recommend you put the tractorbeam on the wingtip mounts and put MK III mining lasers with quickshot in the nose mounts. Two Mk3 with quickshot will rip apart any bandits you find so no need to carry a blaster. Plus the double mining lasers will serve you well when you actually get to the business of mining.
I give this mining setup two thumbs up. When they double the mining rate next patch I doubt I'll be able to finish my droid commands before I have to land.
