Thread: What is Energy Efficiency 0.1 ???
It decays your engine when you make use of it. Basically it means that it takes less hits to disable your engine should anyone be targetting it (which is a pretty lame thing to do). Doesn't really matter though since one shot to an unshielded ship in PvP at least would cripple it. Most people are nice though and don't target engines.
If you press ctrl 1 to target you, then press it again to target your ship, then press [ you'll target your own engine and you can see how much decay your engine has taken due to the overload. Also, a tip. When using EO4, or any OL4 for that matter, always make use of Deep Space repairs. OL4s cause much decay if repaired conventionally.

That's all.
What the above poster was talking about was the hitpoint stress of turning on the command.

Er... that refers to the "efficiency" of the Reactor Drain stat, so .1 means it takes 10 times as much power, and the .3 of EO3 means it takes a tad more than 3 times its normal drain.

Oh yeh. I kind of skimmed over the efficiency part. I'm talking about well, what Haerb said. The effects of running a command at the time.

I find on a well maintained, recently re'd engine that the decay whilst running the overload is negliable. I find reactors though decay to around 75% when running EO4. Probably because they have a lot less hitpoints than engines.
Additionally, I wonder why people target engines? If they're really out for quick disables, Reactors are more efficient to target since they take less damage. Its kinder too since reactors are easily replaceable for the most part.
Hope that helps

Damn, I thought I was doing a gooddeed killing JSF pilot's engines to keep SW making engines

Debateable. Thing is though, the average JSF jock is packing an easily replaceable crafted engine because they rely on the JSF to stay alive a few seconds longer so targetting their engines may be justified. Personally, I don't target anything most of the time.
