Thread: Tier 3 Imperial ships
Imperial Pilot is all about mass management. Remember that the Heavy TIE, RGI, and JSF are all ROTW additions. To many people, those three ships have made the non-bombers in the Imperial ranks worthless.
I disagree.
If you REALLY want to learn how to be a pilot, forget about those ships. The Interceptor is the prime teacher of mass management you'll find. If you can make a standard Interceptor worthwhile, you can make any Imperial ship work. Ditch boosters. Keep Armor at Mark I. And then fill the rest out.
As for the Advanced, it's a GREAT ship. MUCH better than the Agressor. Though the agressor has high mass, it's a freaky hybrid between a bomber and a fighter. It has high mass and crappy maneuverability like a bomber, but it packs the firepower of a fighter. The rear turret might as well not even be there. In order to fly effectively, you gunner won't be able to hit much, anyway. What makes the Advanced so nice is the second gunpoint and the small hitbox. You can dodge a lot more in an Advanced than in a Heavy. And that second gunpoint can double your firepower if you're using droid programs.
If I were you, I'd keep the Heavy, JSF, and RGI reserved for after you're an Ace. You'll be a better pilot for it. Before Ace, I never used a Heavy or RGI. And I only used the JSF on the exit quests in Tier IV.
First, I would consider the following:
Do you want to use it for PVE or PVP?
What is your flying style?
The TIE/Bomber is fine... if you are on a bombing run and have a fighter escort ![]()
