Thread: Bubble Bee Bug back?

Since the Hot Fix last night... Piloting seems near impossible for me and some friends of mine.

Everything in space is jumping everywhere like a mad Bubble Bee... I am unable to damage some Level 1 ships... I am a Teir 3 Pilot by the way... I just went to help a friend on their first trainee mission in Tatooine and got attacked by the Z-95 Commerce Raiders in the Tat Asteroid Belt... I was not able to damage some of them dispite hitting them several times.

My friend had the same problem, and with this being their first time as a Pilot... it did not do much to improve their impression of combat in JTL.

Anyone one experiencing this issue since the Hotfix? I didnt have this problem before the Hotfix and in fact ran through a whole Duty Mission very early Wednesday morning (4am EST) out of Yavin without any problems.

So. Anyword on whether these stability issues will get worked out? It seems to me that the Hotfix that went in this morning was designed to work out stability issues but instead brought more to the game.

I'd say check lag first. Yes, you said it happened to both of you, so it might have been serverside lag. Very possible if it was right after the hotfix and had a lot of updating to do on other people's connections.

I had bumblebee issues in Naboo space, but was fine in Kessel. Good thing, too ... Kessel is a bit less forgiving.

I still have it, but its not s bad as it was, it's also not as bad as I have seen for others. I learn to live with it.

It is not a lag issue or any such thing as my bandwidth and ping are the same as they have always been...

It is not an issue of there being too many people trying to log on and bogging the server down...

It is happening to me on multiple Servers (Including one with low population) and the problem has continued for about the last 24 hours now. I would think that the login load would have ceased by now... but it seems that this Bubble Bee effect has gotten worse since my last post. And yes... we are NOT damaging some Lower Level Fighters even though we ARE hitting them with guns that should take them out in 2 - 3 shots.

I have never heard of the "bubble bee bug". Though I remember a "bumble bee bug".

I had a little bit of that in DS yesterday. And it wasn't the SD lag. I knew I was going to have a few hours to fly so I went and killed all the guns on the SD so I wouldn't have to deal with that lag.. but upon killing Ties they'd be in my sights, and then they'd be behind me shooting..

Before the CU hit, I used to ping Bloodfin 110-130.. since the CU if I can get below 140-150 ping i'm jumping for joy..

The drunken bee issue is in 99% (at least ) of the cases caused on the player side (performance issues on the client, check your other running processes if somethings dragging your system down) or a connection issue (lag).

It however is not and never was a "bug".

The graphics updates from Publish 21 seems to have "de-optimized" the graphics engine. I'm getting graphics lag ground-side that just plain wasn't there before, and I'm getting graphics lag in space sectors that were formerly smooth as silk.

I'd think about bringing it up in a bug thread, but I don't see why I should bother.

I ping at around 80-100 at all times.

It is not an issue on the Client Side, it only happens to me after a major Publish or Hotfix... It is a bug because it is almost always caused by something SOE did in their Publishes and Hotfixes... at least for me it is.

I am starting to experience these issues on the ground now as well. I'v been sitting in the Cantina's and watching AFK Dancers... dancing through the Cantina walls and then suddenly rubberband jump back to the other side of the Cantina.

Didn't happen before Pub 21. All my problems started with that Publish.

Not bother to report it in a bug thread? Yeah I think you have a good idea there.

Sometimes... I get the impression that SOE only pays its Employee's to sit on their thumps and twirl until they come up with yet another bright idea about something in the game they can screw up and break.

No, but I do have a set of Logitech 300watt 5.1 Dolby Surround Speakers plugged in to my Audigy2.

For my Joystick, I have been using the Microsoft Precision and have never had problems with it ever.

Though a friend of mine is using the Logitech Force 3D Force Feedback Joystick and has never experienced any problems with it.

However... as per suggestions in this thread ... I unplugged my joystick, mouse, keyboard.. all one at a time of course.. and tried JTL each time... and still the same Drunken Bee effect. It has nothing to do with the peripherals I have plugged into my system... and is infact a bug on SOE's end related to something they randomly do in various Publishes and Hotfixes... and simply choose to ignore, as usual.

This problem is still occuring. I just spent the weekend at my parents (3 hours away, out of state, using a different ISP) and logged into the game from my parents computer and I am having the problem there as well.

All my friends are complaining about it, doesn't matter what Server they are on... they are all having the same issues.

I didn't post here asking for a fix. I was merely posting to find out if other Pilots have been experiencing the same problem lately.

It is occuring in space and ground lately, while it was long gone from both places. In fact, I'm pretty confident I did not see that in ground for way more than a year and experienced for a brief period in space a while back.
