Thread: How Fast can Storm Squadron be Solo'ed??? (Here's an Answer!)

Ok, I've been discussing this in multiple threads and wanted to consolidate. So here we go...
I currently hold 3 previous Ace's. In order Black Epsilon, Imperial Inquisition, and Smuggler Alliance.
Now realize... this is not a fair comparison to a new pilot who has never flown in JTL before. I have enough RE'ed equiptment to fulfill any need I may have. I already own all the ship deed's. I have experience flying the missions, taking out gunboats, and using droid programs.
The real deal here is if I have to ask for help on this then Storm Squadron truly is the hardest Imperial Squadron in the game. I didn't have to, but I also won't sell Storm Squadron short. It was fun, a little challenging.
My prediction... I can complete Storm Squadron in a single day. No damn way!!! NOt me at least. LOL! Ok, it took 20 in-game hours, I guess someone could do that but I didn't have that kind of time either. So totally wrong. Now here is where I am starting from. I have ZERO ships in my datapad currently, I have my flight computers ready for each tier, I have all the components I should ever need.
The arguement since JTL was launched is that Storm Squadron is "The Hardest". Now, In my opinion, Storm Squadron has the longest escorts and the most AWings, making it seem "hard". Ok, I still won't say it's "hardest" just hard in a different way than Black Epsilon. Storm Squadron had atwo tough missions for me. I died 3 times total so that says something either way.
I believe Black Epsilon is the "hardest" due to the fact that there are Gunboats in Tier 3 and above where as SS does not have Gunboats in tier 3 at all. Same deal, Black Epsilon can't be called the hardest in my mind anymore either, it's just hard in different ways than SS.
Imperial Inquisition is the "middle of the road" as their escorts are not quite as long as SS but they do have some "tough" spots through tier 4. Definately middle of the three...
So here's what I'm going to do, I'll record how long it takes me to do this. If I need any help I will also post that I had to ask for help. I know this isn't the fairest of tests as I have all those benefits to help me through. I believe for a "newbie" pilot SS or BE would be equally as hard for different reasons. As an experienced pilot though, I will be comparing the mission content vs certifications available. (20 hours. Cert's worked out accordingly due to having plenty of good re's)
I am not starting out with a TIE/LD loaded down with parts from my last Ace (as I was Nuetral). Point is, this is just a fun little experiment to check it out for myself, I figure it will be interesting to see what happens...
(btw... I already know of one pilot to solo SS in a single day... Viduus in about 18 hours, lets see if I can beat my guildies time! LMAO! I did not beat Viduus time solo'ing Storm Squadron.

Good luck man. SS is pretty rough.....the escort missions are in of themselves not so hard...it's trying to chase down awings and not get too far from your escort that's rough....otherwise you just have to sit there and get picked at by their blasters. With re'd equipment I bet you can get to tier 4 in a day but probably not to ace; maybe even 4-4-4-4 but the spawn time might hold ya back at the last second when it comes to the vette. I tell ya what, you do that in a day and I'll give ya the composite armor right off my back

Hey Vegitaa. If this is true could i get your help in finishing up my RSF nuetral missions? Im currently 3/4/3/3 pilot and got raped by about 12 rebels while escorting an imp shuttle (strange mission considering im rebel on the ground!)
Anyways I remember you from raiding your 5 Base setup back in the day in Capitol city. Lemme know if u could help!

Don't you have gunboat at tier 3 exit mission in Storm Squadron?

Well, due to Girlfriend responsibilities I was only on for an hour and a half last night. Tier one down (duh...) Got as far as the 2 nd tier two mission and had to run. Looks like the real world will affect my "test".
I'll have to make sure to pay attention to wether or not there is a GunBoat in the Tier 3 exit mission of SS. Tonight I'll be getting back into it but as I have work on friday I'm just gonna keep track of the time it takes as opposed to "getting it done in a day"
So /hatsOff to those that have pulled off the one day SS Ace but unfortunately I have some other stuff taking up higher priorities till friday evening. I'll keep track of the time it takes though. I know this much....
- When I did Black Epsilon, I never flew before in JTL, I had to figure out the system and needed help with missions. That is all expected as I was a newb at it. Took about a week.
- Imperial Inquisition took a total of 18 hours. I already had some RE gear, my Intercepter was loaded with higher cert'ed components (left over from BE and not redeeded) so that was a breeze.
- Smugglers Alliancetook a total of16 hours, no left-over ships of course, plenty of RE'ed gear and experienced pilot by then. (I noticed a lot of the missions you could just blow past the fighters and meet up with your escort before they'd catch up!)
- Storm Squadron, so far an hour and a half into it (too soon to tell in my opinion as all tier 1 missions are the same) I'm done with my first tier 2 mission and of ourse exp capped. Any in-game time working on this I will track.
So, I didn't do it "in a day" So that boastfullness fell flat. On the other hand the only thing slowing me down now is RL. Will keep you all posted.

Yeppers, soon as I get this SS out of the way I'm always available to help another pilot (long as I can target their enemies that is....) Dasshh, Necronomicus, and the rest of the boys are still around btw. We live 300m outside the Imp outpost on Talus. Capital City was another victim of hologrinding so we became nomadic. Better than a shuttleport, I have a starport 300m away! LMAO!

IDK about storm or anything, but i had a tough time completing just the inquisitor part, the tier 3 mission to kill the rebel GB was hard, but I was able to solo it, and I soloed all the way to 4443 mission, then it just got impossible, the last gb at the end of mission is impossible to solo, even with bomberstrike 2, bombers were getting blown up as soon as they showed up. And the GB follows you at all times, so it does not present you with the opportunity to kite it, or get to its blind spot, i had to finnaly call in several of my Rebel/privateer Friends to kill it , and even they had a hard time. Now that was a tough mission, andI was a prevoius corsec ace on this character.
Took me 4 days to master, After work thats is, lol.

There are two missions in storm that are hard to solo; I think both are tier 4. One involves 2 gunboats and the other has 1 gunboat and 2 nova's. Both include a hord of B's, X's and A's. I flew both solo, but I didn't have enough ship left to finish without help.

Usually I'm on from 6pm'ish during the week (I'm mountain time, so 8ish eastern) and quite a lot on the weekends. If I'm not online... I'm with the girlfriend and could care less about SWG.. LMAO!!!!

Personally I found Storm the hardest of the Imperial Squdrons with Inquistion the Easiest Squadron But then it might be what ever squadron you do first is the hardest in your mind.
