I was rather displeased about this. I personally think these items shouldn't decay. Anyway, I was thinking about this and was wondering if I dropped the ace box, then redo the ace quests, would I be reissued the jacket and helmet?

I think you have to drop all pilot and remaster to get them again

No. You can't drop single skill boxes, you would have to surrender all your pilot skill and start over.

You can't drop a single box, so you'd have to drop all your pilot skills and start over from scratch in order to run the ace missions again. They would issue you a new jacket and helmet, though.
While it is uncool that reward-only items like this can decay on the ground, you can still wear fully decayed clothing, meaning it shouldn't be a major issue.

WOW. Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't expecting it to take 2 minutes for 3 replies. KUDOS. Well, since I'm planning on doing multiple aces, I'll just return to my initial squadron at the end. The idea is to have my closet filled with hanging jackets and helmets (sort of a trophy concept).

True. But the a-n-a-l retentive part of me likes 'all orange' on display items in my house. And the 0 condition thing with clothing will soon change anyway.

Oh yeah? Is that part of the CU changes, too? That'd be enough to bump this up to a real if minor issue.

Nope, not in the CU. After a zillion testing deaths I have multiple pieces of 0 condition clothing that still is wearable.
