Stuck in a docking procedure with a vessel that is inaccessible, inside an asteroid. Under attack, but can't fight back!

Is there any way to cancel a docking procedure?

Ah, I should have been more specific. In the middle of a mission, that I'd really rather not start over for like the fourth time...

Well, the good news is the spawned attackers de-spawned after a while.

The bad news is that /undock doesn't work either.

try /abort that should work, you also have a undock key in your hotkey list under ship i think. If nothing else try to either hyper or log out for 30+ minutes.

Thanks for the help on this last night folks, but unfortunately, the answer was to eject / log out.

I did an eject, and started over again.

The /undock command did not work, I assume as it allows you to only undock from space stations?

An interesting siutation though. If your docking partner spawns in a n asteroid, unless we can figure a way around it, you are done, and must start fresh.

ive never heard of a /undock command, but /dock will abort a docking procedure in progress.

I MAY have had a similar problem in the distant past, getting stuck docking.

I THINK my solution was to spam /dock(holding down my F6 key where I had /dock in my toolbar).

If that's what happened, I don't remember how long it took.

Hyper to a point in the same system is a good tip, thanks. I just read that doing this does not cancel the mission (I was always under the impression that it did).

I actually found /undock in my list of commands and tried it. It allows me to undock from a space station, not that I've run across one that I can /dock with...

I did find that typing /dock tried to cancel the docking procedure, but I was caught in a loop, and without making the attempt, the ship seemed unwilling to abort.

And, I think that /abort will only generate /abortHyperspace as an option, as I tried it.

Thanks all!

Last time this happened to me on a mission I had to have a groupmate blow the ship up.

Luckily it was a mission where the ship I blew up would respawn though.
