Thread: Question about Tier 3 Vortex Mission

Im on the first tier 3 Vortex mission So far i can manage to go as far as the Defend the Rebel station till its defenses are up. I die either before they are up or right after.. Is it nessesary to kill the incoming fighters or do i just need to live through the seven min it takes to get the Stations defenses up?

You definitely have to survive. If you have trouble killing the TIEs trying disabling and moving on.
Plus make sure you are doing the standard things. Running droid proggies and so forth. If you don't have the programs or don't understand check the FAQs. Lots of good info there.

by now youve probably done this...but for me, there was no way I could solo this and got help. That was alot of fun with an Ace helping me!

You just need to live through it, however, you'll be given a mission to kill the Spy in the YT-1300 after that, so you could IFF the leftovers and fly away, or, barring that, you'll still need to kill the fighters that are on you after the mission succeeds.
And don't be like me and disable the reactor of the YT-1300 and immediately hit the dock command, all the while leaving the top gun alive and able to shoot at me. Blah.

If you can't shoot them down fast enough, then just spin in a circle and use Cap-Shield-Shunt program with a fast droid interface (there are some low mass, 15 seconds DIavailable from SW).
You don't need to kill them all, just survive. Maybe you'll have to finish them all at the end, but there won't ever be more then 2 waves at a time.

And I forgot... If you think that was hard, the next part of that mission is to dock with that YT-1300. You need to be carefull there, disable its engine and weapons before u dock.
Or you could ask a higher level pilot to help you.
