Im sorry if this has been asked before and im sure it has.

Im an aliance pilot 1/1/1/1, now im doing duty missions but the low xp these ties and pirates give I figure I have to kill about 540 to get 2/2/2/2. Is that right and I just have ALOT of grinding to do or is there a quicker way I am missing?

If you have good equipment you can try killing higher tier npc's.

No matter what you kill you'll end up killing a lot of it. Just don't think about it and have fun. Grinding in space is not nearly as mind numbing as ground grinding.

I figured as much, thanks for the curt replys. Only problem with space grinding is my damn joystick's stick has a massive and useless spring on it so my wrists are uber sore pushing against it for hours at a time.

holy crap dude, if your wrist gets sore using a joystick, you either have one big ass spring or you need to get out and get some excercise...seriously your wrist gets sore????

Big nasty Saitek it is, thinking about cutting the spring off.

Hello -SWJ-

I am also an Aliance Pilot and just got myself to 2222 last night. I found that when I was 1111 and first traveled to Dantooine to see Brother Volvel that I had to do Duty missions to get the first box in the second tier

(I would strongly sugjest be x2xx so you can put better stuff in your ship)

Then once you train that box Volvel has a mission for you (kinda hard mission, to me anyway) and by ythe time you get that mission done you should have enough XP to train another box.

Then Volvel has another mission for you and when you finish that mission he offers to train you a box in the second tier (so that is 3) and then he has another mission for you and I think once I got that one done ( 1st try that time) I had enough again to train the last box.

Anyway, I am not exactly sure I remembered everything exactly right, but you do get help with a box (maybe 2) for doing missions for him.

If you do the duty mission that has you going up against waves of enemies that are followed by a 'boss' target you'll earn those boxes fairly quickly. If you get up to the third boss wave of three boss ships I think you'll have about half a box earned and those missions are fairly quick.
