Well, i've been thinking I might start a lvl 8 engine RE project, and truthfully, I have no clue to what stats I should be looking for in a lvl 8 engine. (ex: in how high the ypr should be)
Any help would be appreciated.

I'll start you off with speed. Do the starmap loot quest for Nym. If your engine has speed in the upper 90s or low 100s, you are set for speed. If you don't have ROTW or Nym shafts you with a slow engine and you don't want to do a cross-server swap, go for the T4 freelance reward engine, 88, Hoar Chal Millitary Grade Engine. I don't have reference to the other stats on hand. Try the pilot FAQs; it may have some good links.

Depends on how much time you plan to spend looting ships. I've been doing duty mission, start to finish for a few weeks now, sometimes 6 times a day, usualy 3, and I haven't finished my engine yet.
YPR can get to 78, post RE, if you're really lucky/spend enough time looting, most seems to RE to around 76-77, so 73YRP pre-RE atleast.
RED it's best to get around the 1.3-1.4k mark, makes it easier to run EO4, also bear in mind to wait till pub 24 so your RED will get the 5% bonus.
Mass can get down to around 21k, I have yet to see a mass, post RE, to go under 20k, a few seem to get 20.5k, maybe a bit lower, but most are around 21k.
As for the speed, do the Nyms quest, or get your friends who aren't big on piloting to do it and buy the decent eninges, some can be lower than 85, some over 100, pure luck of the draw.

For a passabily decent engine, Look for:
-Top speed of 92 at the BARE miniumum. Id shoot for at least 95 personally.
-YPR least 71.5, preferbly 72+
Reactor drain anywhere in the 1400's. (LOW and i do mean LOW 1500's if you can't find any)
-Mass around 24,000, give or take. Preferbly lower. Ideally low mass engines are the rarest ones to loot.
Just remember take whatever you got, and multiply it by i think .05, and add that result to the orginal number. thats the Re engineering bonus for L8 parts. With reactor drain take that 0.5 product and subtract it from the orginal drain instead of addition.
