Thread: losing starships?

sorry for the newb question, but iv just become a pilot and im wondering if when i die in space if i lose my ship and i have to buy a new one?

No, it will just get disabled (with a nice animation of the ship exploding into pieces
) and you'll get towed to the nearest space station where you can repair it by /comming the station. However, the parts will take a bit of decay with each repair (but it's nothing to worry about for now really 
).

thanks, now is that for all ships or just the starting ship they give you?

all ships, but I'm over halfway through my second mastery and haven't died once. Just keep an eye on your armor and jump out when either front or back gets to half or less.
And ALWAYS keep the enemy at your strong side (i.e. if your rear shields are failing, keep the enemy in front of you)
