Space PvP Event 28th May 2005 - Battle for Lok! Fight for control of the Karthakk system!

The Galactic Civil War has been fought in space with as much dedication as on the ground, but usually with fewer numbers. This is about to change, as both the Empire as well as the Rebel Alliance build up their fleets in the Karthakk system, preparing to conquer the other side’s space station in the system and crush the opposing fleet in the process.

Rules:
On May 28, 7 PM EST, there will be a space pvp event held in the Karthakk system above Lok. For one hour, ships will battle for space superiority. During the last ten minutes, no return after being blown up is allowed, but for the first 50 minutes anyone can reenter the combat.
The goal of the fight is to take control of the Imperial and Rebel Space Stations – by removing anyone who could contest control from the vicinity.

Both sides will hold briefings prior ot the battle, at locations and times which will be announced at a later date.

Any pilot wishing to take part, please post here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Starsider&message.id=421434with name and faction so we can give out appropriate information (in-character orders as well as other informaton).

This event is organised by the pilots from the ASFC-website (http://fightercommand.futuredroids.com/), which have held weekly space pvp events since january this year. If you have questions about either space pvp or this event, feel free to contact us.

Thismay bea good occasion for pilots from other servers to check out the scene on Starsider.Anyone can, at 2322 pilot skill, take part in any mass space pvp event without automatically being dead meat, and we all know you don't need too much time or creds to get to that point - especially now, with crafted engines getting a boost, and space still being as profitable as ever.

So, feel free to send Ramona a mail on starsider to be put on the Imperial Pilot mailing list, or contact Gwreng for the rebel mailing list.

Friday 27th May there will be the next Duel Night in Space, check on the ASFC Website for details.

For anyone interested in such events, but playing on another server: It does not take too long to level a pilot up to 2322, a few hours at most, and at that level you can already take part in space pvp, especially with the new crafted engines reaching higher speeds and turning values. You won't be duel-worthy, but in a large furball with dozens of fighters shooting at each other the individual stats of a ship are not as important as in one-on-ones.
