I seem to be in a catch 22. I've been doing missions for Dravis but he's not training me. I have to kill this ace pilot that is tier 2 then he'll train me but I can't put any of the nicer equipment on my ship because I don't have the certification for it which I get from training. Any ideas? yes this is a noob question.

Low level equipment is not usually made by SWs. Just try seaching the bazaar or find a vendor that sells REd equipment. I have one on gorath.

Especially Capacitors and Boosters, newly made engines from a SW are quite nice though even at low levels. That or see if anyone around the starport might group with you for a few mins, should take only a couple mins to blow that ace away if a tier4 is helping

Hmm, you should not have too much difficulty taking the Ace out even with all prototype gear. Try taking out his wingman first so that you won't have to worry about being shot in the rear going after the Tier 2. His wingman should be tier 1 so it won't take much. When you are going after the Tier 2 reduce throttle to make sharper turns and keep on him, increase speed if he starts flying straight. Also, make use of the [ and ] keys to target his engine, as you should be able to disable him quicker than killing him, and of course if he is stuck sitting there you definately won't have any problems. I just did this mission two days ago with the "prototype" scyk that you get for free. It is a very easy mission. The whole thing takes place 500 meters from the station and takes two minutes to complete. While it would be nice to have the tier 2/3 parts and maybe a dunelizzard, you should be able to kill the "ace" with what you have.

I've done it with just the prototype weapons and I can't even bring his shields below 100%.

your shooting at where the ship IS, not where the ship WILL BE, and the net code latentcy is showing a shield flash when you arent really hitting him. Try leading the target a little more. This is one mission you MUST solo if you plan on becoming a pilot of any worth. Learn how to do it, and the rest just starts falling together.

OK! I finally killed the ace. Silly me I thought when I was hitting the shields I was hitting the shields. Thanks everyone for your help.

I'm currently at Tier 2 Mission for Freelance (Smuggler Alliance), I've talked to Shamdon Kree at the bottom level of Lucky Despot Cantina in Mos Eisley. But she wouldn't gave me any mission if I'm not sent by Talon Karrde. She asked for an item to prove that Talon sent me. So what should I do? Any tips would be appreciated.

Talk to Talon Karrde. You did not do the tier 1 "exit mission". She is your next trainer but you visited her too early.

You are sent to Lok to retrieve the article in question. The mission is very easy if you avoid ALL non mission ships. The tier 3 ships in the Lok system willsmash your prototype Scyk into tiny pieces and you along with it.
