For what reason would Gil Burtin not train me in Basic Pilot?

isn't it more to do with the fact that Gil doesn't train anything, just un-trains...

Try talking to Dravis (Smugglers Alliance- Eisley Cantina) Dinge(Theed Palace - RSF) or the CorSec guy (who I haven't done the squad for yet, so can't tell you who it is - check the FAQ)
