Trying for a PvP capable arrangement, even though I'm really getting ahead of myself without the level 10 RE engine I want.

Reactor: Type V, 19540 energy, 55k mass.
Engine: Type V, 70/71/59 YPR, 98 speed, 2500-ish energy required.
Shield: Type IV, 1952 Front/Back, 9.35 regen
Capacitor: Type IV, 52.8 regen, 835 energy
Armor: 2x Type III, 1171 front, 1085 back
Booster: Type II, 29 speed increase, about 9 seconds of burntime.
Weapons: 3x Advanced Blasters, 2550 average max damage, .268 refire.
Droid Interface: 15.0 Level 1 RE'd

Overall, this is about 178k out of a possible 180k.

I can handle R04, EO4, CO4, and no weapon overload. I can cut the capacitor back to Type III, 47.3 recharge, 780 energy, and load in a missile launcher, if needed, or more likely, a countermeasure launcher. Another variant had Type II armor front/back, a Type III capacitor and an Experimental Blaster on the midwing mount.

The front armor is critical, I've got the identical set up on my A-Wing, and I've taken a straight shot to the nose from a JSF with both guns and survived with armor to spare. Presenting a bigger target makes that ability to take a hard hit even more critical

Engine Overload 4 was the big one for me, it pushes near A-Wing levels of maneuverability around 900 speed. Its still a little slower on the uptake into turns, but once she's moving, she's very responsive to adjustments.

I use a small reactor, L8shield, L10 engine, and experimental blasters. Still tweaking to get the 3rd L9 gun in there, but in your cas, that reactor has gotta go, it's a hog.

It's tough to run EO4 with a crafted engine, especially with 3 weapons! Good work. What is your total drain at launch? If you make another Mark V engine without an overcharger, you'll drop down to 84 or so speed and 1900-2000 energy drain. Then you MIGHT be able to drop down to a Mark IV reactor to save 35k mass, or at least a Mark V no overcharger to save 13k mass. If you shrink your cap and booster too, you can fit a little more firepower on there or maybe a slab of Mark IV armor up front.

keep the crafted engine,a pvp xwing should be more of a jouster than a dogfighter.


what you need to be able to do is kill on a head on pass, and run to recharge shields if you miss.

I second that, the reactor has to go, you should be able to find a looted one with much lower mass. Or get lucky and loot one of the Slayn and Korpil (sp) MkIII (I'm sure someone can give you the exact name)level 7's. I've got 2 with much lower mass andgeneration over 25k. One is real sweet, 10k mass 38.9k generation. Both were looted in Kessel, neither from gunboats.

On second look, I'd also recommend the lvl 8 reward shield, change the cap to a MKIII with heavy battery, experimentation on the regen, this will give you 1100+ energy and 40ish regen. Running CO4 will put you in the 80's for regen, and a much bigger sump for CtSS. If you look you can get a lvl 2 RE cap with similar (1100/40) stats.

Lord Cyssrc was kind to me, I am now the proud owner of a 26446 energy, 16.2k mass Reactor.

So now, the following:

L7 RE'd reactor: 26446 energy, 16.2k mass
Type V Engine: 70.3/71.1/59.9 YPR, 98.0 speed, 2412 energy, 33.2k mass
Type IV Shield: 1952.2 front/back, 3062 energy, 16.8k mass
Type III Armor front: 1167 armor points, 6084 mass
Type II Armor rear:142.8 armor points, 2087 mass (i think this is mass reduced)
Type V Capacitor: 965.7 cap energy, 60.4 regen, 37866 mass, 1293 energy
Type I Booster:1611 Booster Energy, 115.2 consumption rate, 579 energy, 809 mass
L1 RE'd Droid Interface: 15.0 speed, 490 mass, 509 energy
2x Advanced Blasters: 2530 avg max damage, 27.1 energy per shot, .27 refire, .48 v shields/armor, 14647 mass, 2399.8 energy
1x Experimental Blaster:3087 max damage, 28.1 energy per shot, .26 refire, .48 v shields/armor, 36845 mass, 2487 energy

Better with the lighter reactor, but you can go evan lighter and use Reactor overload.


With the level four overloads, you take the chance of damaging the parts. I find that useing lvl 3 overloads for reactor, cap and engine are good. (havent used wep overload, but i think i might start.)


You also can consider getting lighter engines and cap, and use lvl 3 overloads for them as well.

will help to load things like better boosters and ordinance, and faster droid interface.

i use this setup(all masses approximate


cert3 re'd reactor 13k gen rate around 2k mass


2cert 8 re'd incom tricannons 23k mass apiece 3.85k damage each energy per shot of 13


1 re'd level 10 corellian beamrail gauss cannon, 5060 damage per shot 45k mass


re'd quantum ion drive 99.3 speed ypr of 76 21.5k mass


re'd cert 8 reward sheilds 2555 fb, regen of 15,26k mass


crafted mark 4 boosters, 14k mass 42.1 speed


re'd level 1 prenerf DI 15 speed, 500 mass


re'd level 6 capacitor recharge of 45, energy of 1290 mass of 8k


the rest is whatever armor seems best(strong in front for attacking cap ships, even for pvp and general dogfighting)

Speed on the booster is only 18, I like it because its got a 10+ second burn time. Its a high speed cruise mode more than an emergency escape speed.

I've determined that at the speeds I'm flying on this thing, faster and less maneuverable just means dead sooner because you gave your opponent a straight shot.
