Ok...so for a change of pace instead of flying around the space station I decided to fly around space with the hud disabled. (CTRL-SHIFT H) I found space is really pretty...even when your blowing stuff up the explosions are nice.... If you wanting to increase your space spatial awareness(ie where are the other ships in relation to your with out looking at the radar) try flying with out hud. Flying through space station with out hud is fun too...

On a technical note I discovered something odd. When you shoot at something that not targeted. It sometimes registers shield hits but does't take damage. How did I discover this...Well I was shooting at a target without hud. You can still target it by targeting under reticle (X). I was hitting it and the shields were lighting up but it wasn't dieing. So I turned the HUD back on to see what kind of damage I was doing and discovered that I was targeting a different ship. Apparently there was another ship in the vicinity of my reticle when I targeted the intened target in the first place. When I targeted the intended target it was at 50% sheilds and 50% armour. I've been able to so this on a semi consistened basis (1 out of 6) ships I try to blow up using this method. Now some people might say that because I don't have HUD on I don't have the visual clues to target correctly and that is why i'm not killing the ship. But even with out HUD on if I have the correct ship targeted, I managed to blow it up just as fast as with the HUD on....

for complete immersion, turn your cockpit on, yoru hud off, set your joystick x axis to roll, and go fight the ISD.

That can't be right. I frequently blow up ships I am not actually targeting. This happens a lot when fighting off swarms, as they sometimes use each other for cover.
