It takes so long for me to get lowly tier 1s down to their mid-shield,even then I can't seem to destroy one unless I'm grouped.I use a joystick,I've started getting used to the controls but its just become a huge headache.I use a light duty TIE,and still,am only an Imperial Pilot Initiate.I started most of the missions for my pilot trainer in Bestine,and I can't seem to get anything done unless I group.I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on a combination of level 1 parts to use for my light duty TIE that is good enough until I reach the next tier.

There's no real sense getting anything better than the Prototype parts until you reach 0/1/0/0. Your first box of training is free after doing 4 missions, just keep at it. Once you've done that, upgrade as best you can, and don't sell loot unless you know you won't want it for ANY reason. You can probably go a LONG way on a looted L1 reactor at about 11k in the Imp pilot tree...
