I've been flying for Storm Squadron ofr about 2 onths now, on and off because of school. Now I got my TIE Interceptor about a month ago for my first Tier 3 box. I've been grinding my final xp for master and jsut finished it to day and after this post actually I'm gonna go do my exit mission. So, here is what has happened to me, I feel like one with my Interceptor. I know it sounds strange, but its the best example I can come up with. It almost feels like an extension of my body, or a comfortabel old shoe. I use the old shoe reference becuase think about it, an old pair of shoes that you like are comfy and you don't even think about doing stuff in them anymore, you just do it, you knwo their limitations etc. Also, I feel that it is like an old shoe because like an older shoe everything kind of settles and the shoe meshes (for lack of better wording) and i feel like that is what has happened to me and my ship. For instance I went to go put new components in it the other day and stopped my self before I did, why, because to me thats like putting some that doenst belong in your old shoe. NOw its not becasue I'm afraid of change it's just the shoe fits, so why change it, now if you didn't understand what I jsut wrote I'll use this quote form Han Solo "listen, buddy I hate new boots. I like my boots covered with scuffs, worn jsut this side of falling apart, with room for my toes and a little roll in the heels. All those noiese they took out, that's how I used to know when I was puching her. How am I gonna know how hard next time we're in a scrap?" Ok in case you couldnt figure it out he was talking about when the New Republic rebuilt the Falcon, now you can find that passage in Before The Storm by Michael P. Kube-McDowell.

You'll soon feel that way about your TIE Advanced. She's a beauty to fly, just like the Interceptor. And after that, you'll probably get just as comfy with your Oppressor/RGI/JSF/Bellbulab.
I know I fly the RGI/JSF/B-22, but I feel most at home in my Oppressor. It's big, clunky, and a beast if outfitted correctly..but I love it. Especially after the hell that is Tier 3 in Storm Squadron.

Wow, first post where someone has said it made sense, but no I have flown an Advance and hated it, I jsut love my Interceptor to much. Another way I geuss I could decribe the "fit" is that all the comonentes (in my eyes) have compressed together and have evolved into the ship......better stop posting, next thing you know I'll be telling you guys i tried to marry it......which I DIDN'T!

It's just like a race driver who seems to be "one" with his car, or the pilot who flies like his craft is an extension of his body.
I got that way with the Interceptor, then after grinding out Tier 4 in an Advanced, it happened again. With the Oppressor, it took a while and some serious tinkering and getting used to the sluggishness, but now it's easier to fly than most of my RoTW ships.
You just get to know your ship inside and out and you can "hear" it speaking to you.
I guess that's what they call "being in the groove".

I've only been shot down twice since I got my Interceptor, so I don't think I'm goona change ships anytime soon.
