Thread: Does anyone use these Rebel droid commands?

Curious if / when you use these commands as well as looking for clarification for each please

Shield Front/Rear Adjustment - Redistributes shields to xxx%/xx% of normal hitpoints and regeneration rate
Is the higher percentage always distributed to the front? Is it a temp command like CtSS or permanent like WO? I'm guessing it's permanent otherwise we wouldn't need Shield Normalization.

Shield Front/Rear Reinforcement - Redistributes xx% of existing power from one shield bank to the other
Is this a stronger to weaker shield distribution? Is it a temp command like CtSS or permanent like WO?

Emergency Shields - Redistributes xx% of existing power from back shield bank to front and xx% of remaining capacitor energy to front shield.
The way I read this is it's always a front shield enhancer. I'm guessing this is a temp command like CtSS, but can you confirm?

PvPers who know they won't be facing missiles tend to use the forward adjusts. Since 99% of all hits in the turns are to the front.

Haven't used the adjustment, but it sure sounds like a persistent effect.

I HAVE used the reinforcement, and it's a temp like CtSS. Takes energy from one shield and applies it to the (theoretically) dented other one.

I've not used the emergency shields, so I can't confirm, although my guess is that you're right on target with it.

Adjustment is permanent. Front Adjust makes the front stronger, while Rear Adjust makes the rear stronger.

It is, it transfers points from one shield's max level to the other. It leaves you VERY well protected to one arc, and nigh defenseless to the other.

What? You mean 200 hp shields covering your ass is defenseless?

Ok, I definitely understand the commands now. Thank you for that!

Now, when do you use them? For instance, how well would a 190%/10% hold up on a Tier 5 gunboat or Correlian Corvette if I just stared at it the whole time w/o showing my backside?

I used both before I loaded up CTSS 3/4. The light or moderate adjustments are good enough for most PvE situations, but I'd suggest getting ready chips with CTSS loaded instead of the rebel reinforcement programs. I don't even bother with the adjustments these days, CTSS4 does fine for me.

In the rare occasion that I've used up both my capacitor charge and my shield charge, /eshields is pretty nice to have. Either eshields or IFF scrambler, both work orPvE. Eshields seems to last longer, although you can't fire while it's active. Eshields recharges your shields at avery highrate, good for when you need to soak up some shots while somebody else does the damage or need more time to get away.

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

Nope, I have no criminal record, just using an apt analogy.

I use front adjust heavy in pvp even vs. missile boaters. I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but say you're in a turn facing someone and they fire a missile off at you, even if you turn away so your rear is exposed to the missile as it hits, your front still takes the damage. Shield front adjust really is only bad when blasters hit you from behind which happens very little to me.

I do carry shield normalisation though and often am switching between the commands since in DS it is -very- embarressing when you get disabled by a rear hit from a mob of NPCs. It is impossible to avoid hits from NPCs all of the time.

I use front adjust extreme in1 on 1battles maybe 2 on 1, depends who I am fighting. Since I have only 1300f/b shields it means the difference beween taking a shot from a L8 gun and shunting the damage away and making a violent trip back to the space station. However, npcs will kill you in one shot if the get behind you while you are concentrating on killing that crazy fast awing. Also, chaff is a must.

In PvE situations, I wouldn't recommend the extreme version. I've find Light and Moderate adjust useful for strafing runs on gunboats and corvettes though.
