As an Imperial pilot, you only need the flight computer, one chip is used up each time you add it to the computer's datapad.

you'll need seperate chips for each flight-comp or astromech.
Its a good idea to have both a flight comp and an astromech fully set up. since your an imp pilot all your ships will just use the FC, but the jedi starfighter needs an astromech

As a Privateer, I make sure I've always got a bunch of Droid Program chips lying around. If I get an Imperial to make me a WOL3 or EOL3 or whatever, I have them make two. You cannot copy stuff outside your faction and when you use them, they're consumed.
Is there any Rebel program that's essential, or at least useful? I'm running Reactor, Cap, Engine, and Weapon Overloads 3 and Cap to Shield shunt 4.

I currently havean astrodroid and a flight computer and the Imperial Droid Routines (I am an Imperial Pilot). If I buy some of the routines from other pilots do I have to buy multiple copies to put them on both the droid and the computer? Or can I use one copy multiple times?
Thanks in advance.
