Thread: New pilot questions

I've started a new career as an Ithorian privateer pilot and I have a couple of questions that I'm not finding answers to on the forums. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to provide me some info / tips:

1) I started in Mos Eisley so my contact is thatHutt smugglerin the cantina. My starter ship is a Hutt Scyk. Past Friday features have shown Black Sun fighterers. Will I be able to fly those too or am I confined to just hutt fighters?

2) I need some tips for getting past a mission. I'm still a 0000 privateer and I'm stuck on my 3rd (I think) mission whereI go out into Tattooine space for a patrol when I'm called on to escort a freighter. We're attacked by Black Sun fighters. I've failed the mission 3 times now. I destroy some 3 or 4 fighters before I fail each time. Does anyone have any tips for completing this mission? I think I only have to destroy 5 BS figthers. It says 4, 3, 3 etc... fighters left each time I kill one, I just can't kill them fast enough I guess...

thanks

Chris

1. You will soon get acces to blacksun fighters. Keep fighting!

2. Use [ to disable engines or reactors (faster than destroying a ship)

Golrok, I was wondering about that. I am an ace pilot, but always wondered about mission success if you just disabled all the enemy fighters. Or are you talking about disabling them all then destroy them at your leisure?

This answer would help on some higher missions I am up on with the ROTW stuff.

Disabling them is good enough for the mission? Since it reports back the number of targets remaining, my assumption was that the mission completes when I destroy all of the fighters prior to destroying the freighter. Or is the point to get the freighter through Tattooine space?

thanks

Disabled fighters will "self-destruct" after a couple of minutes if you don't blow them up yourself, so it'll work. I've done this with no problems. (Well, there is one problem: you don't get xp or loot from a disabled ship that self-destructs, but it has no impact on mission completion.)

Well that helps a lot. If you get them all disabled and are out of harms way once again, you could always go back and destroy them one by one. Cool.

At this point I'm not so concerned about the XP. I've maxed my XP and I'm not able to train yet because I need to complete this mission and maybe more. How many missions do I have to complete before I'm allowed to start training?

Just did it and was also maxed on xp, but once completed got trained in 2 boxes. 1 for completing mission and 1 from xp.

Just started neutral so I can do some of the kassyk quests.
