Thread: The Frustrated Lizard
Heh, that is one of the more creative rants I have read in a while ![]()
Honestly there are a few things you can do to tweak your ship a bit, but your best option is to get a friend to fly wingman for you.
You did not post your server, but there is a pilot helper thread stickied that might help you.

Tweaks to your ship:
- Get some RE guns, even the cert 5's can be RE'd do decent guns
- Run droid programs, especially Capacitor overloads, and Weapon overloads
- Look through your cert 2 engines, and possibly your cert 4 engines, I have found some real gems in the cert 2's
- Get player crafted shields, cert 5
Ace on your own is very possible, but it is much easier if you have done it once with help and have some good components to rely on. Storm Squadron also has some of the toughter missions.
The only was to switch squadrons is to drop all pilot and rejoin. You will loose all your XP. Honestly though, you will be a better pilot for it if you stick it out, get some help, and enjoy the ride
As for the XP training, one of the things I really liked about pilot was the gating missions, sort of a "you must be this big, or have some friends to help to make you this big, to get in" deal. I liked it, and when I did pilot and there were very few masters around, it was a lot of fun with 3-5 Tier 2-3 pilots trying to whip through these ![]()

ok the first time i posted a very similar thread to this it was my lack of knowledge that cause the problem. That may be true again, but i don;t see it.
I'm 2/2/2/2 with enough xp to level to 2/2/3/2 but my sob boss won't train me. Mr inqusitor stupid pants just keeps telling me to finish my mission. Which I am trying to do but I need to get better components because I'm getting my butt kicked. It the yatch mission from Naboo and i do the first two legs fine but when im waiting for the freighter people to get out of the bathroom so i can give them the stolen data about 5 million 4 hundered and 80 thousand 2 hundred and 34 level 3 and 4 various Rebel scum come out to have a BBQ and I'm the main freaking course.
I'v tried to do this four times and I can't see a way past it. I also have traveled to all of the imp trainers I know hoping one would train me in better components (I have the xp) so i could maybe go up agains the rebel horde.
I'm so frustrated.

p.s. The good news is that I am earning some good bank beng frustrated
In my experience if you have endless spawns in the middle of a mission it means you're off mission. I took the CorSec route and learned this when I was supposed to dock with a CorSec gunship to transfer some information gotten in the previous stage of the mission.
Well I thought I would clear the area before docking. Nope, wrong choice! The fighters kept spawing and spawning, every time I beat back a wave a new one would spawn and as it progressed they spawned even faster (to where 2 waves would show up before I could take care of one)! I must have ripped thru more than50 ships before I realized I need to get out of there (this was before I realized you can hyperspace in-sector without losing the mission). I did this mission 2 or 3 times before I realized, I was off mission - I needed to dock, even if it was under fire. So I loaded up my best weapon-to-cap droid program and my best droid interface (had a couple of pre-nerf Level 1 interfaces at 15.2 speed) and did the mission. After docking it was pretty easy to clean up the 3 waves total that had appeared while docking.
This happened again on a couple of missions later and I realized what was happening, so I did the mission target before things got too hot!
Now if your mission has gunships then all bets are off! Even though I'm a Master Pilot now those still make me real uncomfortable (of the several times I died as a pilot only the first death at low level didn't involve a gunship).
