I was a rebel pilot and I switched to Imperial. When I did this I of course lost all of my pilot skills (I was 4443). Now I was going to redeed my ships when I realized I cannot redeed them without removing their components. But, I cannot remove their components without being certified to use them. So basically I am stuck with these ships in my datapad and I cannot do anything but delete them and lose everything on them.

Does anyone have any ideas for how to get around this? Could I trade them to a rebel pilot and have him remove them? Is there a command that will completely remove all components from a ship without "managing" it?

Don't think so, and tbh, it's kind of stupid that you can't manage them.

So far as I know, the only way to deal with this problem is to get a CSR to unload and redeed your ship for you. It might take them a while with all the respec issues and such they're having to deal with at the moment, but I've heard of a number of people getting extricated from this situation by their neighborhood CSR.
