son of a

I cna't believe this is a newbie mission

my final mission to gang my first skill box as a corsec

take down an Awing with super shields

his shields were so good they healed when I shot him

no litterally everytime I hit him his shields went up by 1

not only that but he was so bleeding fast that I could rarely hit him

then he some how mid combat went into hyperspace!

so now I'm here staring at the mission waypoint wondering if it's worth it to keep trying.

this is by far teh most frustrating thing I ever have had to do in a game, try to hit something that is 10x faster then my ship(I even had boosters) that has shields that recharge so fast I can't seem to damage him.

worst yet I'm actually good at flight sims.

oh and sorry if this appears as one run on sentance there is a bug when I post on any SOE forum where apparently enters don't appear in messages.

I am sitting here staring at the waypoint 48m from it...

Try to get some help. The last tier exit missions is usually hard.

Mostly, I say practice. You don't have to practice against the mission target, but maybe against other tier 1's around Corellia, Naboo, or Tatooine. If you have a hard time handling a tier 1 static space spawn with your newbie fighter then you might need to work on your ship handling, aiming, and such.

Many times throughout thepilot path you may want to get assistance. Hopefully you have friends in game that can help. If not then make some. Many pilots enjoy helping other as it is something to do with the 'new and improved loadout' on their favorite fighter.

Keep trying to upgrade your ship. Loot works if that's what you have. If you have some low level loot find a neighborhood SW and ask him/her to assist you by Reverse Engineering loot. As any RE set can provide a Firespray schematic, it's a win-win situation. For reference, the item's Reverse Engineer level is how many of the same component type (blasters, capacitors, ect) that are required to make an RE set.

If you are having a problem with sentences running together, try periods and capitalization. Those tend to make paragraphs easier to read.

I have a mission atm I can't do either. Have to take down 3 x wings and a YT 1300! I have all my 1st skill boxes and the 2nd tier equipment skills done so far and this was the mission I got after getting my 1st tier2 skill. I am in a Tie Fighter (erm normal type the one after light duty) and its impossible. Soon as I get in weapons range 1 shot goes through my shields and into my armor before I can even start to get in behind it and the 2nd shot finishes me off. Currently h ave a 400 front and back shield and 225ish armor plates front and back and the best weapons and other gear I could find on the bazaar or looted. Honestly not sure what to do as it is impossible in my current ship it seems. Guess I can grind out a bunch of exp off of tier1 or tier2 fighter spawns. I have even taken down a tier3 Y wing before but this tier2 xwing/yt1300 spawn was a massacare

It never hurts to ask for help. This is a multiplayer game after all.

For the CorSec mission I was able to do that solo once I found an engine with decent Yaw Pitch Roll and a good gun. The key is not to try to chase down the Awing, you flat out can't. Drop your speed to 1/2-3/4 so that you are more manuverable than he is and he will keep comming at you. If your gun can do 7%-10% damage to his shields each pass he won't be able to regen fully and the fight will be over quickly. (BTW all missions hyperspace away if you take too long or get to far from the ship you are escorting)

For the 2 X-Wing & YT-1300 mission just find a friend.I helped someone with this mission not realizing it was a tier 2 mission and I blew up the YT with 3 shots out of my tier 4 cannons.I would not suggest getting someone too far ahead of you to help as the mission is over too quickly but with a friend or two it should be fun. (The guy I helped was then treated to assisting me in my tier 4 mission in his tier 2 tie, I kept him alive and he got a truck load of XP)

Simple rule of JtL fighting (as the AI works now)

If you aren't fast enough to chase the guy you're fighting, then don't.

A low tier Awing like that won't do a terrible lot of damage, so simply line yourself up and let him dive at you. Blast him all the way in, and target his engine with the [ ] keys. If he does do a some damage to your shields, chase him a little until you recharge. It will happen much faster than he can.

But yes, as was said, the best thing to do is practice. Get the hang of your ship in a non mission situation. No rules, no time limits, simply get used to turning, throttling, aiming. Getting an assist and getting past where your stuck is fine, but it doesnt help your piloting skills much this early on. Improving your ship is nice, but honestly, the early missions are well designed to be done in a starter ship. A better ship will just cause more aggravation until you are used to the systems.

An easy way to kill fast ships like the A-wing and intercepter's is not to try to keep up with them. Instead you want to slow down and allow the ship to circle you. Fireas the ship is flying past you or at you . Target the ships engines as well. Once you damage them enough the ship will slow down alot. After you have completey destroyed the engines, well the ship will stop of course.
