Thread: Failure to repair on Deep Space exit-by-violence

Recently my companions and I have experienced a bug whereby we will not get a full repair when forced out of deep space by getting vaped. Returning to DS and exiting via hyperspace typically solves the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? It's extraordinarily annoying.

It happens more often to Rebels than Imps, though.

I'm actually a Rebel, right now. And I'm not talking about just PvP damage.

If you get killed in DS, you're more likely to still be damaged upon exit when you're a Rebel.

I'd like to get a fix on the circumstances that cause it to occur.

Our only theory thus far is that it happens when a ship fails to despawn immediately after being killed and absorbs a few extra hits even while it's technically dead.

A limited attempt to test this using the Star Destroyer as the shooter appears to kill the theory, but a player-shooter test is probably in order to confirm.

I've been killed in DS (by NPCs and PCs) about 25 times since JtL launched. The repair bug only happened 3 times.

The is another bug, which may be entirely separate, with interesting effects. If your Engine is targeted and blown up by a player and then you are "finished off," your Engine Overload Program will "stick" when you leave DS, which normally has a bad tendency to shut down your ship due to low Energy. If your Reactor, or no specific component, is targeted, then EO does not seem to stick.

For my dozens of DS exit-by-deaths, I can only remember noticing that I still had damage a few times. If I remember correctly, it seemed that Armor was the component that had the damage at least one of those times.

I've had it happen in my Vaksai when leaving DS under my own power. Last night I finished farming, jumed out, and found that my cap, DI, weapon, and CMs, were all disabled. Only things that worked were engines at about 85%, reactor, and shields. So I jumped back in to DS for a repair, jumped back out and no change. Went to a SS and they didn't ask for repairs so Ianded and relaunched and was good as new.

I have never had this happen in my TIE but I have had it happen, as the OP said, after being shot down and kicked from DS.

If it happens again, talk to a space station. if they don't ask you about repairs just land then relaunch and 9 times out of 10 you should be good to go.

Consider that a reason why I push to have the droid interface at the top of the power tree. We should have the option to customize our power distribution order. That way, I could set it right by running reactor overload

this was because of reactor overload being repaired, resetting it, while the rest of your droid commands were not reset. it's not the same bug. as for the "no repair after death" bug, i've had that happen to me about 3 or 4 times as well. (out of hundreds of deaths)
